Post Christmas migraine hitting with a vengence-vent

Hi All,

The post-Christmas migraine is hitting with an absolute vengence right now and I have no idea what to do. The usual meds (Ultram and benedryl) aren't helping much right now. I broke down and took some Klonopin yesterday and again this morning. The Klonopin combined with the ultam and benedryl is helping some. I just hate having to take it because I went off Klonopin and Tylenol 3 about 4 weeks ago. I think these have been the only two days where I just felt like I absolutely needed it as the pain was getting dangerously close to 10.

I am just so tired of having to deal with all of this right now. Also, fainting increases when the pain gets worse-so that doesn't help either.

I am not sure what to do. I will probably end up calling my neuro about an IV of Depakan as this one is just horrendous.

In the meantime, I'll try to distract myself, curl up on the couch and see if that helps today.

Any advice would be welcome.

I hope you feel better soon SM. I'm currently in day 3 of this migraine caused by overindulging over xmas *sigh*. Had a very good month last month, got through the whole month with no major migraine, just a few headaches. I did this by avoiding all my dietary triggers (basically don't eat anything that tastes nice and live on boring food lol). However stayed at my parents for 4 days over christmas and ate just about everything that is a trigger for me and am now paying the price!

right side of head currently throbbing insistently just to remind me that all that chocolate just wasn't worth it........grrrr!

Thanks so much for the words of support. I don't know what I would do without y'all.

I was actually able to get the IV of Depakan yesterday and it has knocked the headache down. I feel a lot better with a pain down to a liveable level.

I don't have any big new years plans other than hanging out with my roomate and her family.
