non stop 15 months "migraine" no history of migraine. advice please
Hello
Just wondering if anyone has advice about the cause of my migraine. Since all doctors say is it's genetic.
And wondering if anyone else has a similar experience of never having had a migraine then waking up with one and it being constant for however many months.
Of course I had headaches before, sometimes sinus type headaches sometimes normal ones.
Never made me that concerned or affected my life.
Last Feb I had sleep on a broken bed and woke up very uncomfortable with an ache around my head/eye. Not that bad. I prodded my face and found it was a spot to the right of my left eye, under the eye brow my nose.this didn't go away and spread to the rest of my sinus areas. And stayed all month of course I thought I had a sinus problem and I was off sick from work a few days here and there. I saw an ent specialist and had a ct scan and all clear. This got worse and spread to intense pressure and pain In the head. I couldn't work and eventually lost my job, it varies in severitybut is always there. It seems to be at the middle level constantly these days - a level where I can't watch tv or socialise or read or do much.
I have tender points in my neck, occipital nerve and other points in my head. And my sinus area continues to aggravate me, along with the pressure in the head which is debilitating.
I didn't over use pain killers as they didn't work.
I got my eyes tested. Don't drink or smoke. Don't eat gluton or drunk caffeine much (occasionally a coffee helps a bit).
I tried gabapentin, topiramate (helped a bit but couldn't tolerate it to increase after it stopped helping), propanalol, naproxen, and recently tried amitriptyline but could hardly tolerate 5mg so come off it for a bit. Will try again next month.
Could there be a physical element?
Sometimes a one to oneyoga session releases the pressure in my head a bit, and one time I was basically pain free for 2 and a half hours following it.
Also I saw a chiro for 10 sessions and had 6 better days in Feb and 9 in March. Since I stopped its been consistently bad. No better days. I'd go back but he referred me to another chiro who prods me a lot and seems to do muscle testing which has been no help. I've also currently run out of money!
I also thought about seeing a rheumatologist to see if there's a link between my hyper mobility and postural hypertension and forward head posture etc.
I've had botox 3 weeks ago but no change yet, I.know it can take a few treatment to work in some people.
I've tried magnesium and supplements.
My instinct is that there is definitely something physical going on, any ideas of what this could be?
Does my pain sound like migraines?
I have some sensitivity to light and noise, sunglasses and earplugs help.
Thanks

Have you checked to see if you have "New Daily Persistent Headache?" This article may help to see if you fall in this category:
http://www.mdjunction.com/ndph/articles/new-daily-persistent-headache-in-children-and-adults
Note, about 80% of individuals with this type of headache can tell you the date when their headache started. We also have many of the same symptoms as migraineurs.
Have you tried a muscle relaxant, such as Zanaflex? A type of doctor that has helped me is an osteopath who is certified in neuromuscular-skeletal problems.
Just a thought, in case your headaches are due to muscle and/or skeletal imbalances.

Thank u, sometimes diazapan helps a bit. But not always.
I did see an osteopath but I don't think he was very good...
What is the possible causes of new persistent daily headache? It definitely doesn't feel like a headache. The pressure I mean. It's an intense feeling I've never experienced before.

They do not know what causes NDPH. Like migraines doctors try different meds or treatments until one works. As I said an osteopathic manipulations and "neural therapy" procaine injections helped me. Also Zanaflex helps.
My sensitivity to sound varies in intensity with the headache pain.
