Supplement combination question
My headache specialist put me on a supplement combination of :
Butterburr 150mg
Riboflavin (B2) 400mg
Magnesium 500mg
coenzyme Q10 150mg
The cost can be CRAZY, so I ordered the items seperately from a vitamin company in the States. Doing this has saved me a whole lot of money.
My problem and question is this: The coenzyme I ordered is 120mg, not 150mg. Do you think I should just take the 120mg and call it a day, or take two of the caps a day, making it 240mg (waaaay over)? Or alternate days taking one and then two? hmmmmmm

Re: Supplement combination question
Here's a link to a study done on migraneurs with 100mgs 3x daily. That would mean you can absolutely take it, but it is SOOO expensive.
I posted somewhere else that believe it or not, costco and BJS has the cheapest
price. I brought about a year ago there and it was cheaper than any price I found on the internet.
I don't know if that has changed now, but it's worth a check.
If I understand this correctly, the study shows results similar to studies that were done
with just 150mgs though, so IMHO you'd be waisting your money to take two pills in one day.
Here's another link to 30mg pills that are relatively cheap. I did NOT price compare, so
there may be cheaper out there. 150 capsules for $12.90 plus shipping (eligible for free shipping if
you spend $25 on amazon.com)

I have seen magnesium and B2 offered as help for M. You would be fine with 120 mg as mg are small units of measure. I used 5-htp
which gave me alot of relief from daily chronic. Never prevented a M though. Also others advise there can be quality control of supp so I always buy the brand the chain drug stores sell but I buy on e-bay cheaper. check exp date before order.

Re: Supplement combination question
I ordered the q10 from Swanson and they also sell the butterbur for really cheap. It took me a month to get them, but they shipped them the day after I ordered, so it was the mail system and customs that took so long.
I was unable to find the butterbur in Canada other then in a 40.00 bottle combo pack for 60 pills, so only a months supply.
The ones I bought at Swanson are 60 75mg caps for only 4.99....35.00 a month savings.
I'm excited to finally have the entire combination, as it appears to be very effective after about two months of steady use.
The q10 was only about 10.00 for 100 pills and I think they were buy one get one free.
I paid an extra 15.00 for shipping, but I don't think that is too bad considering I bought six bottles of pills.
I do see that they also sell a 200mg pill, so I suppose there would be no harm in taking two rather then one.
I see the HA specialist in a week...so I'll ask her.

I use Puritan's Pride too. They ship very quickly, and I've been happy with the vitamins/supplements I get from them.
