You can add a picture as an avatar - a permanent image above your username,
or
you can use an image icons - these are in the icons bar above the message window as you reply or post - two of them, one for 'Host an image' and 'Image' - an Image is for those that already have an URL and the other for those that not, for example from your personal files.
