Frustrated and looking for support!

Hi all! I stumbled upon this site accidentally and it seems like it might be just what I needed to find! I have had migraines since I was 13, and at 20 they became chronic. Now, at 22, it has gotten to the point that I have one at least once a week. It starts out with an aura, then my left side goes numb and I go completely blind. I have a two year old son, and it has become a huge challenge to take care of him because of this. I frequently find myself in bed while my husband and son are off together. I want to be able to participate! Recently, my doctor put me on topomax and imitrex. The imitrex works about 20% of the time. I'm starting to feel like a crazy person because of how often I have been to the doctor over the past year, and feel like I'm not being take too seriously by her. I am so frustrated and just want to go back to feeling normal! What are some things that have worked for you? I feel so uneducated about all of this as well...

and welcome! If you can take some time and look through posts on here, you will find a wealth of information. Read through the posts and responses and you can see what people are trying and how it works. Everyone is different and what works for some doesn't work for another.

The important thing is to have a supportive doctor, if you can find one, who is willing to work with you and listen to your symptoms.
