Frustrated with myself

I spent most of last night cuddling up to a bag of peas for a 10/10 migraine.

This morning, I called my provider's office, and found out she wasn't in, and would I like to leave a message for the nurse for another provider whom I don't know, and he doesn't know me.

Told the receptionist I'd just tough it out until Monday, and am kicking myself in the ass for not going to the alternate provider, as the migraine is getting worse.  Advil is not helping, nor is magnesium, nor ice packs.  Thankfully, my usually noisy parakeet is keeping quiet today.  Been watching TV and wishing I'd gone in for the shots.  I don't want to go to the ER, because they think migraineurs are all drug seekers.  Don't you just love how they ask what works, and then when you tell them, they treat you like an addict.  Never mind I haven't been to that ER in almost 20 years (lived elsewhere and migraines were not as severe).

Thanks for letting me complain a little; don't mean to be so negative.

If Imitrex or similar medication would help the ER staff would be a lot less likely to treat you like a drug seeker. I do think it is only the request for narcotics that they get concerned about.

Unfortunately, I get hemiplegic migraines, so the triptans and DHE are out of the question.  Trying to get my insurance to cover Botox, but in the meantime, narcotics are the only option.

Got into my NP this a.m. and am feeling much better.  Migraine not completely gone, but much improved.
