Pissed my pants while throwing up...at work...Sob.

How would that be for a honest, sincere Facebook post?

Friends, I'm drained...back at home in my dark quiet room, trying not to cry. And very grateful for all of you.

I can't believe I still have a job, I've been missing so much. I can't help but stress about that, even though nothing has been said. I just wonder what my staff thinks when they see me racing to the restroom and listen to me slurring. I try to tell them it's not over medication that makes me slur but I'm not sure they believe me.

If it doesn't break by tomorrow I'm going to call in and try a steroid pack. Steroids make me feel terrible, agitated and irritable, but something has to give. My stand by Toradol has done nothing. The vicoden and oxycontin are not touching it, nor is the cambia.

I'm tired...

Oh Charlotte! I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. I know the feeling. I make it in a day here and a day there. I hate it but I'm doing the best I can while working from home.

I just hope whatever is going on passes soon. I'm getting tired of almost losing my lunch (never quite gets there which is almost worse), not being able to see and being so emotional (granted I have a lot going on and wish I could have 1 good cry and get it all out and over with).

I'm tired but on so many levels.

Oh my dear friend, how horrible.
Mostly I just get pain with the migraine, pretty low on other neurologicals and sub. symptoms...
But I have been caught out with the iBS.
It almost happened last week.

I feel so bad for you, especially as you work as well.

So sorry to hear this. If possible, can you get the steroid pack today?.or go to an emergency room? I've only used steroid pack once and it did the trick. Not knowing when a migraine is going to subside can be so frustrating. For me the time flies by so fast because I don't want it too. It reminds me of what I am missing. You are lucky to have a sympathetic work place it sounds like. .I wish you migraine free soon!!!

I can't imagine how much worse it would be if I didn't have my Drs support. Well, actually I can, it's only been in the last six months that I had a neuro that I was comfortable talking about pain control with. With my old neuro whenever I would bring up that I had built up tolerance (after being on opioids over ten years), he would threaten to take them away (and I wasnt on very many). Even though it was the only thing I had success with. It made it so I wasn't very open with him.

I'm having a bad spell right now, but your comment reminded me how it was before...it was like this day in and day out for years....

I am so sorry for your rough day - the fact that we all continue to get up in the morning knowing what we may face is amazing. I wish we could make the rest of the world understand. I keep the following quote on my computer screen: "Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.”

I'm so sorry. I hope you feel better soon. It's awful to feel so sick, let alone to be at work when it happens. I do have to say, I feel slightly better knowing I'm not the only one who has had "leakage" problems when throwing up. Happens to me all the time (fortunately at home) and I'm always humiliated. As if the regular stuff we go through isn't bad enough.

How awful! You have my sympathies also.

I don't mean to be a wiseass, but really, your post title sounds like a typical day for a migraine sufferer. If they only knew...

Migraines take away all dignity. They bring you to your knees and make you as helpless as a newborn. I feel for you, I've been there too, and i am so sorry you had to suffer the humiliation of such a bad migraine, especially at work.

Migraine & Job are a bad combination.
I also struggle and try to disguise my pain in the office. The colleagues who don't know me well think that I'm moody and asocial in certain moments, especially when I cross them in the corridor and can't even say "hi". How can I explain that in that moment, even a minor movement of my mouth/eyes can make vomit???

Fortunately, the closest colleagues are very nice and comprehensive. They're mainly men and one could expect that they were less sensitive. Instead, they're all sweet and caring with me

Nice, and so dignified.

I used to take naps over lunch on the floor in the office loo, with loo rolls as pillows.

Please go to you doctor and tell him he needs to sort you out no matter what kind of monster drug it takes to make you better.

I didn't realize you were saying "sob" and read it as "SOB" which is what I would be saying. I've had a really bad week too. I go in our conference room and sleep for lunches and am sucking down Pepsi and ginger ale to settle my stomach. I got a bloody nose once throwing up at work and it bled all down my shirt before I realized it. Not my finest moment.

Have you ever tried Phenergen? It really helps me for nausea. It's pretty sedating so it's good to take at night but I can take half during the day and keep going.

It's so hard going through what you are and trying to get through a work day. It just stinks. I hope you're doing better now. We all understand and most of us have been there. Getting sick in public restrooms is just disgusting!

Yesterday was a little better...I made it work all the way until 2:30 pm. Then the nausea hit again. That's what I'm fighting with the most. When justnthe head is going it's more tolerable but once the nausea starts...I take zofran, which is effective but the insurance company limits me to 12 a month. But, I'm nauseous everyday.

I guess after I left the other day one of my Board members came in AGAIN. This is the third time she's caught me out sick recently. BUT, my only saving grace is that she told my partner at work that her hubby suffers from migraines. Plus, right now I still have plenty of vacation time so I'm not out of time. (I don't take much vacation...it's mostly saved for sick time...). But still...I HAVE to find a way to stay at work. My Board members can't see me working from home and don't see me going in on Sundays.

I don eat right at all, I know that...but the thought of breakfast and lunch make me gag. And even at dinner I don't eat much, yet I'm still 40 lbs overweight. So through out the day I'm doing more snacking then I think.

I still have 2 1/2 hours before work...yet I'm already up. Feels like it's gonna be a long day.

But, I decided I like the S.O.B. stance rather than the sob stance. At least it sounds defiant

You should secure FMLA protection. It will make you feel better knowing you have it.
