What supplements might I need/try?
I have Fibro and Migraine as most of you know, and also IBS.
I dont take any sort of supplements at all.
This seems to be at odds with most of you when I read your posts.
Should I be on some vitamins or something maybe?
Is everyone on stuff please??

Re: What supplements might I need/try?
well, pen, i have what you have, except not the ibs. through the last 41 years, i have bought truckloads of just about every supplement known; at least the ones which seemed reasonable at the time. i've wasted untold amounts of $.
most of them i cannot take, because of the excipient ingredients. i.e.: the stuff that holds them together. right now i'm trying butterbur from swansons, as you know, without any bad effects. what a miracle!
also, i take 2000 international units of vit. D because i think that everyone is deficient in this country, and i do not use fortified dairy products regularly. otherwise, nothing. i'm sure others don't agree, but i do believe that my varied and mostly organic diet gives me trace minerals and enough vitamins.
i did take the magnesium glycinate for a few years, but i see no difference now that i'm not taking it. (maybe even a little bit of improvement, but who knows why???)
i heard a famous doctor speak once, many years ago, and he said "americans have the most expensive urine in the world". meaning, we fall for the advertising, and don't realize that more is not ALWAYS better.
maybe the same applies to brits? dianne

Hi Dianne,
I was thinking about Vit. D because it is big news here too. We all seem to be D and Magnesium deficient.
People have contacted our migraine action who have had huge improvement in their migraines just from magnesium.
Can be hard to take though....
Vit D shouldnt be a problem though, thanks Dianne.
Oh BTW, no we are not quite so supplement keen as you are, but big business, and growing.
Minerals....there are no minerals left in our soil, so we are very low on them.
People are supplementing them.
