Prayer request - possible heart attack...

Last night, I had what they think may have been a mild heart attack ---- I had pain in my L chest, and L arm (especially) and the kids took me to the ER.
My blood pressure was 211 over 100 something, and my EKG was "abnormal"...They gave me an IV of Lopressor and Clonidine to get the BP down, and some nitroglycerin to put under my tongue. That relieved the arm pain.

They wanted me to spend the night, but I talked them into letting me come home; I promised to come right back if I had any more pain. And next week, I have to go the the cardiologist and have a stress test, etc. to see what happened.

So, once again, I need prayers...I would like to live until Joshua is settled, at least... I don't feel like my "job" is quite finished-- almost, but not quite...

My head was okay through all this ...

Yes, they did blood work, and said at that point I didn't have any "enzymes" (yet)... but it did concern them that the nitro helped the pain in my arm.

They wanted me to stay all night so they could check the blood again later, but I talked them into letting me go home.

My back is so bad that I was really afraid of trying to stay in a hospital bed all night... stupid, huh? Today I am thinking I should have stayed and let them run all the tests they wanted. I can be such a baby about hospitals. I don't need to make any mistakes about this.

Now it will be Monday before I can see anyone (if then) unless I go back to the ER. Which I will do if I have any more pain...

hate to say it, but you really need enzyme studies which are done at specific hour points after the suspicion of a problem.

please make sure to get to your appointment. don't wait if you don't feel good. trust me.

How scary for you, Holly. You're definitely in my prayers. I'll add my two cents to everyone else's. Please, please, please go back to the ER if you have pain, nausea, sweating.... anything that could be a sign of further problems.

Thinking of you, and praying for you. You are the second person I have heard of today with heart concerns. I pray you are well.

Good grief! Please take care and listen to the advice everyone is giving you. This is nothing to mess around with.

I understand completely about those beds. They killed my back when I was in and then again this week when I was only in for a few hours for tests.

I think, like a poster once mentioned, we get a homing instinct. We have to get home, period. But, it's not always what's best. I talked them into letting me go home only to end up being admitted two days later. I think if I would've stayed in the first place I wouldn't have been in as long.

Go back at a moments notice. Even if it's just because you start second guessing yourself.

Thank you so much for your prayers... I have not had any arm pain, but I had a wild dizzy spell the next night (late at night, of course) It finally eased back...

Yesterday I felt fairly okay and today I am anxious, because my younger son is stuck in the Atlanta airport (!) My older son and DIL are staying with me, which is a comfort, let me tell ya... if anything hurts, they will get me to the ER, or call an ambulance.

Tomorrow, I try to get in to see a cardio. Hoping I can get in quickly...
