Stupid migraine

I started out with a bad m yesterday and I still have it. A certain smell is really getting to me right now. I can`t figure out what it is and it`s really annoying me. I feel like crap....

so sorry, kate. smells are one of my major triggers. tuesday i was exposed to cigarette smoke and perfume (very short exposures, but for me it doesn't take very much to put me under. i was "under" all day wednesday, had to cancel work and mostly stay in bed).

is this smelly thing in your house or when you're out? i wish i were there to help you sniff it out, with my ultra-sensitive nose! and then we'd both be sick.......dianne

LOL, the smell is in my house. It smells like plastic or something like that.

Well, now i think the smell might be coming from outside.

the worse i already feel, the more sensitive is my nose. so i surely understand the frustration. did someone in your house buy a new plastic item? sometimes i have to air out new purchases in my garage or basement, for up to a YEAR.

yep, nuts. but that's how long it takes for some things to out-gass. that is, for the product to "give up" its volatile compounds. life is so fun for us chemical folks. dianne

Are you sure it's real? The only reason I ask is that I've noticed I will find "phantom" smells. Like I could swear the lower unit of my building is on fire but there's nothing there. Can drive you nuts though...

I hate the phantom smells. I go around trying ot figure out where it's coming from and the answer is my brain. Quite annoying!

What I've thought were phantom smells, I can usually eventually trace to something. I set out boxes of opened baking soda and glasses of vinegar around the house to try to absorb or eliminate the smells.

Meat odors really bother me....sausage, pepperoni, jerky.....and my husband loves these. Even if he eats them elsewhere the smell somehow lingers on his clothing and I can sniff it out. It's very annoying and nauseating too. For my son, it's eggs.

I hope you can find the source. I know how annoying it can be.

hi, i am new. I get migraines a lot now. used to be once a month with period but now it is just wenever they want to come. I also smell stuff sometimes. THis headache that I jsut got over today that came wed morning I was smelling and feeling vinegar or balsamic vinegar in my nose and kind of feeling or tasting the sensation of it. It actually was making me cough like when you get a wiff of hot wings with the buffalo sauce in your throat by breathing it in. well it finally wen t away. I had to keep going outside or near an open window. The smell/taste was everywhere, at work, at home, in the car..so had to be phantom. well I wanted to post something and let you all know i am new and have arrived. thanx for this forum.
