Difficult to explain
This winter has been particularly cold and most people are sick of it and long for springtime.
I am instead praying for more weeks of ice and snow and low temperatures because my migraine behaves better when it's cold.
Today temperature raised. It's sunny and finally the ice is beginng to melt.
Most people are HAPPY FEEL BETTER
I am in a corner of the office, struggling with migraine and hoping that weather forecast are right for tomorrow as they say "Low temperatures again and snow".....
My colleagues look at me as if I were an alien and tell me that I'm not normal ..
I feel lonely sometimes, I know you can understand me

You bet we do Ivy.
Sorry to be brief, waiting (so far in vain) for the drugs to work.
I know you will understand...

I know just what you mean! For me cold makes it worse, so I'd be happy if the weather improves, but I know about the being looked at like you're an alien. When I stopped dancing all my dancing friends just couldn't understand - still don't. I still meet up with them socially, but they always want to go on somewhere and dance. They look at me like I'm strange when I decline to go, or go but end up sitting in the corner refusing to dance. Like I'm being awkward. IT MAKES MY HEAD HURT! Several years on I think they are just about getting it. Sometimes.

Re: Difficult to explain
Yup - we understand. And for some reason...the weather doesn't have to change - a low pressure front going through sends me to the couch. And it's not always just when it comes through. We had one come through Tuesday, yesterday wasn't looking good and today seems to be worse although the temp seems to be moderating (getting rid of some of the snowman poo). My poor dogs - they want to go out and play and all I see is bright sunlight and want to go hide inside. Feel like the worlds worst doggie mom.

The whole weather thing.
Excuse me being thick, but just how do they explain this....
What occurs and why does it make us worse...I mean I understand the sensitivity and the barometric changes.
But...how does that give us, well me for that matter, the worst run of migraine I have ever had since last October.
And it aint over yet. But will it be when spring comes?
Its all a bit depressing isnt it?
I mean where can we go where there isnt any weather??

Re: Difficult to explain
I wish I knew why pressure changes sent me over the edge. There has to be some trigger to it - something that signals the start and torture. I really wish this was understood...
I wonder if you are getting what I had last week - it was the worst I've ever had and nothing helped. I was a weepy-sobby-suicidal mess. But when it lifted, I had 4 fantastic days. Either that or it put the pain into perspective.
