Well the cycle starts again. I landed a job after four months of unemployment and it a really good position. But the migraine goblins are still here. Why Sundays, always Sundays? I don't even start for another week!
I shelved my pain clinic plan and went back to my PCP to go back into pain management. Gotta keep this job...
Don't mind me, I've just frustrated and tired. Didn't fall asleep until 7:30 am and woke up at 11.

Boy, can I relate to your post. After a couple of ok days, I`m back to a good size m. I didn`t sleep well last night and am extremely tired. That always brings on a migraine for me. Plus I had to work today. I`m pretty irratable right now, myself.

I can relate...I've had a great weekend. Not pain free but very mild days. 2 in a row, and I can't remember the last time I had two days in a row. I just have a feeling tomorrow is not going to be 3 and I'll be working from my couch...again. Not surprising though - mine seem to hit on Mondays for some reason. A guess it's a case of the Mondays Either that or more weather changes occur from Sunday into Monday....

Congrats on the job, Dan! It's so difficult to juggle work and this monster. I was really proud of myself yesterday, I told hubby "I made it through the work week!" Then I realized that no, I hadn't. I had taken Friday off for President's Day, had 1/2 day off because of snow, and had to leave another day two hours early.
It's pathetic that that felt like a full work week to me. I am SO fortunate at how understanding my workplace is and the I'm allowed to go in after hours to make up work.

You have all my sympathy
I'm an expert week-ender migrainer.
After 21 years I still have to understand if it's the stress of the working week that triggers migraine or if it's the lack of stress that makes feel sick....

Dan,
Congrats on the job!!!!!!!!! What will you be doing??? Is it full time?
As for the M, I have to believe it's the stress coming up on you. I usually get Ms on Sundays, too because I oversleep. Now I'm trying to get up around my normal time, or at least by 8:30. Also, Sundays are the day before Mondays & the start of the work-week, so Ms usually creep up on us. I know, it's a cruel trick of nature.

Congrats on the job!!!
I will keep you in my prayers that these dumb things won't affect you in your work.
Weekend migraines are a mystery to me.
They have affected me for years now.
My doctor often hears from me on Fridays and Mondays.
More often Mondays though.
He is off on Tuesday, so if I have had one throughout the weekend, I can't wait til Wednesday so I have to call on Monday.
He and I have often talked about this and neither of us knows why it happens so often.
I don't do much of anything different on weekends than during the week as I am on disability and don't work anymore.
Does this apply to anyone else here??
Cindy

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. For those who asked I work in IT as a Network Systems Administrator. The company that hired me has a pretty good reputation and the other members of the IT department have all been there over 10 years so it's a good stable department.
Right now I'm fighting a #7. It came on this afternoon and it's making my life hell. This is exactly what I'm afraid of with this new job. I've been taking Norco to control the pain but I certainly cannot bring that to work. This position look very promising and I want to keep it for a long time, but I'm worried...
Thank you all for your prayers. I think we all could use some divine intervention. I have to get off of the computer; I can hardly look at the display without it hurting.

I hope things are better Dan, and that monster doesnt get in your way. Congrats BTW.
I used to get week end headaches years ago. I guess the typical. I drank coffee all week and now I'm not...
A very good neuro told me we are ultra sensitive and even the slightest change in our routine (weekends a biggie)
Can be a trigger. Of course we all know this, but he stressed just how little change there has to be.
Everyone else probably already got that, but I hadnt realised it was that critical.
As for right now. As was pointed out to me a few weeks ago....stress/anticipation.???
Pray things calm down for you.

T-minis 3 day's to the new job and I spent mid-morning to mid-afternoon in bed trying to get my head to settle down. Another wasted day. Pain was at about a five.
How am I going to work? Hopefully being active in a new environment will keep things manageable.

Oh dear Dan, It is so hard isnt it. Try not to get too stressed or down about it.
My daughter has chronic IBS. She has been out of work for a year...redundant.
She is now trying to train for another job.
This involves her going to our local airport.
She is really struggling, she lives her life around toilets...IBS is great like that.
They are there of course, but it is quite obvious to the people she has to "observe" where she is going.
She also suffers crippling gut pain, so has now missed 3 of the sessions in two weeks and two evening meetings.
She is so despondent. I ca only try to encourage her and pick up the pieces.
She has had to move back home....recession...no income....no money to pay mortgage...flat rented.
It breaks my heart.
Sorry I know this doesnt help you does it...
Why do we have to struggle like this?
I know life isnt fair, but does it have to be quite so unfair.
Take care Dan, try to travel hopefully, I know its so hard.

Dan,
Deep breath...getting worked up won't help. I think it must be something with the weather. Monday and Tuesday were okay (really mild), yesterday I felt so awful and left work early and today was a loss. I knew I was in no state to drive. There must be something coming through and hopefully tomorrow will be better.
As for the job. Hopefully your head will settle down and just try to treat the symptoms as soon as they come on. With the minor ones, it does help...major ones...well hopefully it will allow you to function. Just remember to take care of yourself.
