So I went to see the famous doctor
I won't mention his name- but he is a certified migraine specialist and very famous. This was my second visit for botox. I think I got some mild relief from the first series of injections and decided to give it another go as many people have said that the second time around can be better. (I've had a headache of varying intensity for over twenty years but no one except another migraine sufferer would believe that.)
He was so rude. And arrogant. I told him my neck hurt after the last treatment and he told me it was because I didn't realize how much my neck hurt until I had relief in the other areas. Well, no, that's not quite right but anything I said he just blew off. Now my neck hurts again (it got better as the botox began to wear off) despite the fact that he injected me in the occipital area this time. There were other things I brought up that he also just (rudely) blew off.
I felt as if he was treating a generic patient and not an individual. But I am hoping for some relief this time with the botox. Still too early to tell.
I'm so tired of pain, more pain, sadness, and doctors who really don't know all that much but are willing to charge as if they did- my insurance won't cover this, of course.
I just want my life back.

I know how you feel. I just took some Advil and had coffee. I have a real screamer today. I even have my sunglasses on in the house.I`ve been taking more Advil than i usually do because my head has been so bad lately. So I hope I don`t go into rebound hell. I know what you mean about Drs.
After not liking the Neuro that I had(big time witch), I tryed to switch to one who was highly recommended. I had them send my records over there, etc. After that, they told me that there was nothing more that they could do for me and wouldn`t take me on as a patient. Since it was a smaller area, there weren`t many Drs to choose from. So at that point I was done with Drs.

Really- you don't see doctors at all? I'm getting to that point myself, but it's scary.
When I was growing up my mother always just took aspirin and coffee to treat her migraines. I did the same until I was pregnant (24 years ago). That's when the migraines became intolerable. Cause and effect? It does seem that the more I see doctors, the worse I get.
Thanks for replying. And I really hope you feel better soon.

Re: So I went to see the famous doctor
To your last post Anna - I'm not saying you should go by this but it is something to think about. My Great Grandma lived to be 96, her daughter (my grandma) lived to be 106. Her daughter (my mom) is healthy and in her 80's. The one thing they have in common--stay away from doctors. My 106 year old grandma was adamant on this point. (None of them had migraines though).

I cannot deal with a rude and arrogant doctor no matter if she/he's a genius and has 10,000 positive feedbacks. I dont' care. I need someone who is technically prepared but who understand my entire body and mind.
estre004: my grandma also died at 102 and she had her first complete check up only at 100
she was very very adamant about doctors, too. She never suffered from anything and she died because she was old. Period.
