Another Migraine
Thanks to the storms that rolled through here last night and this morning, I have a raging migraine. Going to NP this am to get rescue meds.....yet again. Thankfully, she is very generous with the pain meds, especially since my neuro is backing her up on her treatment plan. Getting weak on my left side, so remains to be seen if I will walk into the office or use the wheels.
Wishing everyone a migraine free day.

I know how you feel, I am in KY. Our weather system wasn't nearly as bad it did add fuel to the fire. Maybe we can get ourselves a biodome to retreat to in times like these LOL. I hope that the NP gave you what you needed so that you can get some rest. Peace and Prayers your way...

Thanks, Angela. Prayers and happy thoughts are always welcomed and appreciated.
Managed to walk into the NP's office and the weakness has pretty much resolved, Thank God. NP wanted to decrease my dose of Demerol today, but I explained to her that this was a severe migraine (9/10), so she will decrease back to 50 mg next time I need to go in. We're trying to find the lowest possible dose while still giving relief. Also had shots of Phenergan, Toradol and Dexamethasone, all this on the advice of my neuro.
Where do you live in KY? I used to live near Ft. Knox.

RE: Another Migraine
Trying to resolve the pain medication question is so frustrating!! I understand the docs have to watch out for the folks that are trying to get meds, but the whole "invisible illness" thing gets old. I wish there was a mood ring that could show our pain scale! I am SO happy you got what you needed. I saw in a previous post you also received botox. I had those tx also. The first round worked for me, but not the second. How is is going?
I live in Northen KY, right across the border from OH, near the airport.

Botox seems to be decreasing the severity of my migraines, but not the frequency. I'm only 4 weeks out from my first round, so more improvement is possible. If only I could get my eyes to see straight!

Have you tried any diet changes? Some of us have found help by cutting out certain ingredients such as artificial food dyes, MSG, foods high in tannins, or even low carb diets. Search through the forums and you will find tons of topics on it. Even if it's just a small decrease in the headaches it can make a big difference in your life.
