WILL I DIE DUE TO MIGRAINE?

Any migraine patient in world who receives 400 to 500 attacks per years?
My stomach is filled with pills. If I sleep, I get worst pain after sleep. So I prefer to sit all the day and night on the chair. Only MIGRIL tablet help me in migraine . I take 10 tablets per week for pain. 500 tablets in year.
When I was 10 years old , , I had received 1 attack of migraine pain per week,
When I was 20 I received 3 to 5 attacks per week
When I was 30 I received 5 to 7 per week
When I was 40 I received 7 to 10 attacks per week
Now I am 58, I receive 10 to 15 attacks per week
When I will be 60 years - I do not know what will be happen to me.
I left the job as a bank manager due to 15 attacks per week.
I am only parson in my whole family feeling migraine.Thank God my kids are well. I do not want to die or suicide. I want to live for my family.
Medicines companies have any answer about my migraine? Which sell expensive medicines out of the reach of poor peoples. My question to all medicines companies and sufferers from migraine..... Is there any cheapest medicine for migraine pain?

I have found that marijuana helps decrease some of my symptoms. It helps reduce the nausea, and relaxes the parts of your body that tense up due to the pain of the migraine. I have no idea how legal or how easy to get it is in your part of the world, but it helps me some. Hugz!!

Yes I know you . You helped me for my migraine in 2004. I hope you will continue. In 24 hours only 3 to 4 hours migraine free. i am in very severe condition . My English is not good Shakil from Pakistan

You may want to try some natural supplements that can help migraine and would not be expensive there. I use 400 mg of magnesium per day and 5000 mg of vitamin D per day.
Butterbur has also been found to be effective in reducing migraines in many.

Shakil, I wish there was something I could do to help you. I still suffer from my own migraine headaches but I have a good doctor and pain medication to rely upon.

The previous poster mentioned magnesium supplements. Do you have a pharmacy or health food store near by? I am not familiar with the things you have available in your country.

Do you have a doctor? If yes, what has he or she prescribed for you?

Have you tried making an ice pack to place on your head? I know that will not cure anything but it might feel good for a little while.

Please mention here the names of natural medicines for migraine. Leslie I am sorry that you are still in migraine.You first sent me migraine advice in 2003.There are many many high doctors in U S A . and also available good medicines. Shakil, have you ever had a lumbar puncture? It is sometimes called a spinal tap. It is a test used to determine if you have high cerebral spinal fluid pressure (CSF). CSF is the liquid that surrounds your brain and spinal column. There is a disease called Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH). The old name for it was Pseudo Tumor Cerebri (which means false brain tumor). The symptoms resemble a brain tumor but it has nothing to do with a tumor.

If you have the lumbar puncture and the pressure is high, they can give you a medication which helps your body release the extra fluid naturally. I know you do not have the ability of a doctor to test you. Since you seem to be in pain constantly, you must have something other than ordinary migraine.

I will do some research online to come up with a list of natural over the counter things you may try for migraine. I will post it as soon as I can.

Here is a list of the non-prescription remedies for migraine. These should be available without needing a doctor.

1) herbal preparation butterbur
2) Fenoprofen, ibuprofen, ketoprofen and naproxen (these are non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, in a similar class as asprin)
3) magnesium (this is a mineral)
4) riboflavin (one of the B vitamins)
5) feverfew
6) Co-Q10
7) cyproheptadine (anti-histamine) You may find some relief from other drugs in this class. They are used for allergies.

If I can find a doctor in your country who would be willing to see you without payment, can you get transportation to his office?

I am not guaranteeing I will find a doctor but I don't want to waste time seeking one out if you have no way to see him.

I forgot to mention something. You stated that your eye sight is failing. That is one of the symptoms of IIH (high cerebral spinal fluid pressure).

The pressure affects the optic nerve (the nerve involved with eye sight). It can cause blindness.

The disease can be diagnosed by an eye doctor. They are called Ophthalmologists. They can see the effects of the optic nerve pressure by looking into the eyes.

If you contact them, tell them that you are losing your sight and suspect pressure on your optic nerve. Don't say migraine as they may turn you down for treatment thinking it is not an eye problem.

If they ask, you can tell them about your severe head pain but do not say migraine!

LRBT hospital is near to my house.6 month ago They checked me absolutely free of cost. They suggest me 2.5+skeptical for reading and 1.5 number for far sight. They also provide me skeptical. Now i can see or read easily. Leslie tell me the name of doctor. IN Lahore I can go on Bicycle. No problem of transport for me. Buses are available in Lahore.

I have sent an email to the hospital. I explained my idea that you may have IIH. I am hopeful that they will be willing to examine you for it. When I hear from the hospital, I will let you know what they said.

If this hospital examines you and finds you do not have this disorder they may be able to help you find another facility which can help you (and offers their services for free, too). That is why I do not want you to mention migraine to them. If they hear "migraine", they may tell you they cannot help you. Allow them to diagnose you.

Leslie I am waiting for your mail to contact doctor. Be sure it will be free of cost. Most numbers of doctors are very greedy in Pakistan. Perhaps you heard that last full month in Punjab province all the young doctors were on strike . Many people were died due to doctors strike. It is all to get more money.I think there is no doctor in Pakistan who will cure free of cost of IIH. My age was 5 when I was in migraine or headache. In JAN I will 60. I want to tell you last 50 years no doctor was found free of cost.. Every person is running to catch the wealth . Last month Pakistan Prime Minister was Dismissed due to not write a letter to Swiss courts to bring back the black money of of President of Pakistan. I do not want to criticize any person but I want to give an example that every one is running behind the money. Doctors understand those poor patients as BEGGARS . I know or my wife know how I spent my 60 years in Much Pain. After 60 year age I will start Heroine as experiment to finish the pain.(Migraine). I did not smoke or take wine or any other thing in my hole life. I was the record holder in cycling event in Pakistan at the age of 23 . And participated in many International events. I could not qualified for 1972 Olympics(Germany) due to my migraine. Leslie I am waiting for help for my migraine. Or any one who can shere me in my migraine I welcome. Shakil, I am so sorry for your suffering. Migraine can ruin lives, even with all the medicines in the western world, at best, we only live half-lives and it affects everyithing we do, as well as our families.
This is why we understand your pain, even if we do not know how to advise you.

Leslie is trying her best, it is very kind of her, so try to follow her advice, just in case there is a chance that you get some help. Many of us got some relief only becasue we kept trying, when we no longer belived that anything will help. So do not loose hope, keep trying.

I understand it is difficult to keep asking for free help from doctors who made you feel bad about not having money, but what is important that you yourself know in your heart, that you are a proud and honest man with a loving family, and if they cannot see that, they are not as celver, as they think.
So wear your head high, even when you ask for free help. You know, and we know, that you are NOT a beggar.

I currently am suffering daily, and it won't go away, but at least I have medication to ease the pain, this man has none!

I am praying he will get some help. I am a believer in Jesus Christ, and I question Him everyday why he hasn't healed me... but now I have a different outlook, at least I live in a place where there is medical coverage and medication to ease the pain. I pray this man finds the same relief we have here in the states.....

There is no concept of insurance . I have no insurance coverage . No any medical facility or coverage. It was very difficult to sit on the chair in the office at the time of migraine. So I left the job. Now no way of income . I need no money I need only medically treatment to get rid of pain and to live alive for my family. My son , daughter and wife help me very much in migraine. When they press my head with the both hands with high strength, I feel some better when they stop to press, again severe pain comes. Some time my family press my head whole the day and whole the night to finish my pain and some time I feel better. In Pakistan money is the God of Doctors. Shakil Ahmad

Do you belong to a mosque or church? In the US, people sometimes get help from their local clergyman. Perhaps your Imam or pastor could help?

approximately last four years it is daily routine when I awake In the morning I feel severe migraine attack.At night When I go to bed , within 15 minutes I sleep. My sleeping time 6 to 8 hours. I checked my diet I surveyed about my working but i donot know why i feel severe pain at awaking time. some time my BP at morning 150 . .. 90 some time 140...85 when high BP 150 95 i take tenormin 25mg.. ANY PERSON WHO FEEL SEVERE PAIN AT AWAKING TIME? LESLIE are you any comments about my morning pain. Why this happening?
