Remember when "doctors" thought headaches were caused by pressure building up inside the skull, so they would drill a hole in the patients head?

I was wondering, since nothing else has worked for the last two day's, should I use a spade bit or a simple spiral bit. I thought about pounding a nail into my left temple too.

Ahh, the things you think about at 3am... lol!

Well it would be very funny if it wasn't such a sad indictment of the way we have been treated all these years.
As for the implement, not sure, but I would say, make it swift..... Shocked

I think I read that the Inca's would put a stinging nettle in the patient's ear and then drill. The pain of the nettle would mask the pain of the drilling.

If that wasn't so sad it would be really funny.

I believe you are referring to trepanation. I always planned to use a hand drill. The kind you crank. But we now have a couple of battery operated ones. I think I would use that. That is why hubby keeps them under lock and key in the garage!

An subzero ice cold icepick, slipped under the eyesocket to gently pry brain from skull. Requires no drilling at all.

Angela - all I can say is OW! I think I'd rather take the drill to my head (and yes I've been tempted too).

This morning lying in bed, I wondered if the pressure was just going to blow the back of my skull off...or was I hoping it would. Probably, most definitely, hoping.
