Dawn
when i last saw my neuro ans said how much meds some of the drs in the states will let pts have for migs he was startled and said obviously youre getting the rebounds.

Dawn, I know from my long experience once the person get in hers or his head the rebound theory,
nothing but nothing is going to convince it otherwise. Now I see that in you, as I remember we've discussed rebound in the past.
You are hopelessly stuck with it for life. But what's worse, so is the DOCTOR. A lot of drs, to be precise.

Nevertheless, I will repeat what I always say - rebound is but a convenient scapegoat for impossible to control M pain, period.
They will call anything "rebound" on the spot, regardless if it truly is or not.

Migraine is disease of PAIN.
The majority of doctors, general or a specialist, simply don't know how to control M to begin with,
let alone more complicated cases of daily or aggravated pain.
They won't admit their defeat, their inadequacy, period.
Therefore, their response is: "you have REBOUND" Laughing

When I read horror posts on Polish forums, some of them from UK, (some Poles live in UK, too) like:
"I had to go to work with horrible M, vomited three times in the restroom already, help please, everybody look at me strangely, I took all the triptans I could and all Solpadeine and nothing helps, what can I do I have to work as I took all sick days this month and it's only the 10th!!"

I am thinking to myself, wow, bless American drs and Percocet.

What do YOU have, Dawn? 6 triptans a month and 3 of Solpadeine per week? how do you work?
and with this we come to:
~ sometimes you have to make choice between rebound and functional life or no rebound and no life at all - as simple as that.

Ivy
So, it is possible that if you mainly deal with Polish sufferers, they have a slightly different perception of what's available in other European countries.

Not necessarily Ivy, on Polish forum are also Polish immigrants who live in other European countries mostly UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, France and Holland.
A lot of them hope for more information, support, mostly I guess because of the language on the Polish forum.

From their posts, my impression is when it comes to painkillers UK is as bad as Poland if not worse.
