Oh my goodness, you poor pair. I hope your husbands come home soon. I feel anxious for you.

Isn't Toradol either a very low dosage narcotic or a non-narcotic pain reliever?

Toradol is a strong anti-inflamitory. It needs to be given IM. Your behind would be best if you can reach it...or if you can't try for the thickest part of your upper thigh.
I can do sub-q injections myself...but never had the nerve to do IM.

This site has some information about 2/3's of the way down the page.
I recognize the back hip area, because that's where the nurses have always given mine. That's the one I would try personally, but they give information on the appropriate places. Hope this helps so you can get some relief soon. It's so hard to do it when you're really hurting.

Ugh! I wouldn't be able to wait for DH to come home...he's been on a business trip since the 2nd. I hope you get your injection figured out. As a last resort, I'd call my doc or pharmacist to get help. They've walked me through things on the phone before.
Good Luck!

I would do the upper thigh myself, as you will have the best control over things. Giving it in your own butt and deltoid is tough, and the deltoid will need the right size needle. In the thigh you are most likely to hit a large muscle, which is what you want.
You are sure it's IM and not SC. If it's SC I'd just do it in your belly.

When I had these available to me, I did it in my thigh. Clean skin with alcohol, jab, inject, apply bandaid. Think of how much better your head will feel once you have the medicine on board.

Sorry - didn't look at the time this was posted. Hope you are better now.
Thigh is much better than butt. Often butt injections are not absorbed properly due to amount of adipose tissue (it may not even go into the muscle). Also there is risk of nerve damage there. And it would be very difficult to give yourself an injection in this area. Vastus Lateralis is the preferred spot. See this for directions:

But if I had a migraine I doubt I could make sense of the directions. No nurse friends available? I wish I could help. I hope you feel better soon.

Re: How do I give myself an injection of Toradol
IM injections have to be done carefully to avoid veins and major nerves. I had to give my wife B-12 and interferon shots for seven months. The nerves are avoided by proper landmarking (knowing where they are). Veins and arteries are avoided by injecting the needle and then pulling back the plunger a bit to see if you get a blood "flash". If the needle is in the muscle there won't be any blood but if it's in an artery or vein blood will come back into the syringe.
The mid thigh is fairly safe as opposed to the glut muscle (hip). If you go too low on the glut muscle you can hit the Sciatic nerve.

Greeneyes,
I do toridal injections, I just pinch the fatty part of my upper butt, and stick the needle in, you know you have to put it all the ay in right? Usually, I don't even feel the injections. I also do Imitrex injections, and they hurt worse... You can do it... think of the relief it will bring ..
