Tried an extra triptan and it failed. But IHM helped???
I took it in desperation at noon. I had sort of woken at 8 and my head felt not too bad.
I dozed off again and at 9.00 I had awful pain again.
I tried a couple of Excedrin....nothing....with ice even...nothing. (is that like on the rocks??)
Called migraine group. Agonising over another triptan.....took 12 last month....freaks me out....
"Dont worry you took one the last two days, the weather is doing this, take another."
So I did, and 2 hours later got some side effects....so at least I know I didnt imagine I took it.
But 5 hours later....no less pain.
The pain is so bad in my neck again, right side and under ear into side of head. Into my back teeth, so much pressure there.
I asked my daughter to do Head Massage for me.
THAT helped.....it isnt gone, its gone down from say an 8 to a 5.
NOW...big question....maybe Brent would know, or anyone of course...not playing favourties here.
If that helped and the OTC or the Migard did not.....WTF is the pain please?????
Does this mean it is not migraine?
If not, what then???
Anyone please? I seem to have two probably interconnected pains.
If I am repeating myself I apologise, typing this in a hurry and pretty tense.
Thank you.

Re: Tried an extra triptan and it failed. But IHM helped???
I'm sorry you're going through so much pain. I don't have any specific answers for you, other than to say that what you're describing sounds exactly like my migraines. I often tell my husband it's like I'm having two migraines at once: one in my neck and one in the back of my head. Triptans don't touch the pain, usually. Sometimes I drink a strong cup of tea/coffee + tylenol + ibuprofen all at once. This can take the edge off for a while. The most effective medication for me is midrin.
If you found relief through massage, you might want to try taking a bath + using ice. I find that if I sink into a very hot tub of water (I like to add epsom salts for the muscle relaxing properties) while holding ice on my head where it hurts at the same time that I can usually get SOME relief. Temporary, yes, but relief nonetheless.
Hope you feel better soon.

Jayme, thank you. I used to get a lot of pain in back of my head when I first got the CFS.
I told people it lived there....it did, but could move to typical migraine...in those days once a month.
They say noting stays the same. It seems this is returning. First with more neck pain and now the back of the head.
It is I agree such horrible pain, and there seems no obvious remedy.
My daughter is living here at the moment and I might have to call on her massage again.
She has tailored the Indian Head Massage to suit me, and, its here and its free and is just 10 minutes.
I dont like to ask, but it is worth a try.
Yesterday it helped as well, but it doesnt always...
Seems migraine is so inconsistent in its form, nothing "always" works.
Take care Jayme.
