Found a lump.
Some of you may remember I was in the hospital recently with severe pain, and they found blood clots in both my lungs (Pulmonary Embolism).
Anyway, I had to have injections of blood thinners, and two of them were either side of my tummy. I had severe bruising on both sides where I had the needles but I notice I have
quite a lump where one of the injections was, do you know if it is normal to have a hard lump where you are bruised? Not sure if I should get this checked
out, the bruising has almost gone but the lump is still there.
Thanks!

Re: Found a lump.
Ruth,
This past summer I had to have a biopsy of my breast. I was lucky there was no cancer. As the breast recovered the brusing was there for about two months. After about two weeks I found a large hard lump in my breast right where the biopsy was.
After going to my doctor they said it was just a bruse lump just like when you hit your arm or leg and a black and blue mark comes. Right in the center of it is usually a hard round lump with yellow brusing.
Do you think that is what you have now? It might be possible and if so it is nothing to worry about. Just natures way of repairing itself. My doctor told me to put warm compresses on it. The lump should go away in about 2-3 weeks. I never got around to the warm compresses. The lump did indeed go away soon after.
Hope that is all it is. Hope you are on the mend and feeling much better.
Rest, read, and enjoy your grandchildren.
Take care Ruth and let us know how you are doing. You are in my prayers.

Re: Found a lump.
Keep an eye on it, but rest your mind knowing that this is common. When is your follow-up appointment?
If it's in the next two weeks then just give your doc an update when you see her/him.
It shouldn't be getting any bigger though, so just be mindful.
Call the Alberta nurses line if you need reassurance from the pros.
Rest well.
