Hi All,

The migraines have been particularly horrific this month. I have had to take a little more medication than usual- something I haven't had to do in quite a while. I am low on them, but they should be filled tomorrow. Already spoke to the pharmazy.

I just hate it when they are this bad. I don't feel like doing anything except the lying down or finding some sort of distraction to deal with it. I just hate it. Dora is being clingy and sweet- basically just staying next to me and being a good service dog. I am toying with the idea of taking just a tiny bit of zanaflex- night meds, crashing and seeing if that helps as that is the only thing I think I can do. I do have enough ulltram, klonopin, to get through today. I have a call in to my dr about getting the Tylenol 3 refilled. But they said he usually stops by the office on Fridays and they would ask him to fill it. Pharmacy will also fax. It is not an early refill, just didn't realize I was out of it. I am hoping that will- along with rest will help. I hope I don't sound too bad- I am extremely careful about meds. Just have had a bad month. I do have my next round of Botox scheduled for Wednesday hope that helps too.

Any ideas or advice would be great.

Pain free days,

Sorry about the high levels of your pain lately SM. We all understand that at times we have to seek help wherever we can. I am sure that you know your body best and are behaving as responsibly, as you can.

I also wonder how your Botox injectins went.
As it happens I came here to ask about Botox question as I have a dilemma if I should have it done, or not.
Did it help you in the past, and for how long?
Was it helpful last Wednesday and is the effect immediate, or is the delay and how long?
Sorry about all this questions, but this issues are very much on my mind at the moment.

I do hope that you got some relief, as it seemed you badly needed some relief.
BTW I forgot to ask you, do you see any "cosmetic" effect after the Botox? And if so, is it noticeable.

Hi,

I did get Botox on Wednesday. It has helped some- the effect wasn't completely immediate, but I have felt better the past few days than I did before the injections. I think they do several injections in the forehead, both remples, and my neck. As for cosmetic effect, I have a nice smooth wrinkle free forehead,(but I am only 32).

I have had it in the past- I think about ten years ago. Right now, we are doing a round every three months. This is the third round I have had. It does help. I would say that it is worth a try as you will know pretty quickly whether or not it works for you. In my case, it was a -"let's try it and see" treatment that ended up helping.

I am still recovering from the bad one, but at lease with the Botox, meds, and all the other tricks- things are getting better.

I am so glad to hear that you are getting some relief. I know that when we are in the "bad pain place" every little helps. We need such morale boosters from time to time, however insignificant.

I also have this attitude "lets try and see", but I am in no immediate hurry, so I will give myself more time to consider.
Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
