does anyone know about nerve ablation?

hey
has anyone ever heard of or had a nerve ablation relateing to neck pain...i was at a pain management clinic and it was one of the things they mentioned..the are doing an updated MRI to recheck my neck first...i have degenerative disc disease and know i need surgery but trying to hold off as long as i can.
