Rating Preventative Meds

I just found this and thought it might be of interest (though maybe everyone's seen it already?):

Thanks for this list - interesting. But rather useless to the individual here.

Any neurologist worth his certification is going to start with those preventatives that are effective for most people - and those are the highest rated reduction medications on this list, No surprise - these drugs are effective reducers of migraine episodes for most people.

Then the lower rated reducers - again no surprise. Why? Migraine Reduction Medications (mrm) are highly individual. We are talking about adjusting brain chemistry and it appears everyone's brain chemistry is a little bit different. What is a miracle medication for you will have no effect for me - and vice versa.

I still believe the ONLY way to determine is this or that medication is an effective mrm is to take it, at it s full therapeutic dose, for 8 weeks or more. Only then will one learn if the medication is effective. Sucks, but true.
