Has anyone tried Lisinopril as a preventative? Have you found it to be effective? Did you experience initial side effects, and did they last?

Thanks.

I tried it - I thought it sounded like it might really help me. However, it tanked my pulse which normally runs around 55 - it dropped it to 45 and I just couldn't stay upright at the pace. I did discover when you faint at Wal-Mart they do have rules - they are supposed to have employees block off the aisle until the person is up and moving or been removed. I, however, fainted in the chocolate aisle and other customers were not happy with having the aisle blocked so they let the customers in to get their chocolate! I think the drug is worth a try - it does not have many side effects - and you can start on a very small dose. Please keep us posted! L

Funny about the chocolate aisle - as if people with migraines could even eat it!

Sorry it didn't work for you. I was also concerned because my BP is low, and I have started it and feel pretty tired and spacey. If it continues to bother me, I think I'll speak with my M.D. and discontinue it.

Lisinopril has a nasty side-effect profile, in particular a vicious cough. BP patients hate it.

I took it for high blood pressure and had a constant cough. It did nothing for my headache and little for the high systolic BP.
