So sorry for your loss. Our pets are our children and losing them is painful as I can speak from experience. My condolences.

Re: Fred the basset - R.I.P.
I got home from work today and my seven year old basset Lilly was missing. I think she was looking for Fred. She hasn't come in the house since he left for the vet. I think she's waiting for him to come home.
I was in tears driving all over looking for her. Finally after a couple hours I went out for a smoke and she was walking up the driveway, ears dragging.
We have an Invisible Fence so she doesn't get to wander. I had taken her collar off thinking the IF was wonky and that's why she wasn't coming in the house. Never dreamed she'd take off. She usually scared to death of getting shocked (in fact she is so well trained on it, we don't even have it set to shock, it just buzzes) that when we take her collar off to take her for a walk we still have to pick her up and carry her past the "fence" line.
Anyway, I'm so happy she's home I couldn't bear the thought of losing two dogs in a week.

Oh, Charlotte, I'm so glad Lily found her way back home. She's probably grieving too.
We had to put our old dog, Mindy, to sleep this past weekend. Gosh it's so hard. Of course, I ended up with a significant migraine from crying. Our remaining dog, Dolly, is moping around the house, pouting and crying. It's so hard to see a dog grieve for another.
Please take care. Our furry babies mean so much to us.
