My Dad..The good news and the bad
Good news-He made it successfully through the surgery on his lung and they got both spots out.
Bad news-Both tumors came back as cancer and now the doctor who said "caught it early, stage one" is saying "stage 4" We r waiting for the biopsy results from the lymph nodes they removed to come back.
He has not seen an Oncologist yet (hes only 2 days out of surgey-still has lung tubes and oxygen-but I tried researching lung cancer stage 4 and it does not look good.
I am so sad and lost and scared. I have never felt so fragile. Not my dad......please. We really need him!!!! He is not only my rock...he is my little boys' hero. We can't lose him right now!!
If you pray, please include him. His name is Sam.

Oh, Sweetie, I am SO sorry!
I'm not a prayer, but your dad, you and your son will be in my thoughts.

I'll be praying for your Dad and you're whole family. I've gone through having both parents battle cancer, so I know how frightened you are. Hang in there and try not to panic before you get official results. *hugs*

Re: My Dad..The good news and the bad
Jessica,
I will be praying for you and your family.
I'd like to share a personal story about my husbands family for you. Forgive me if I slip up on some
of the details. I hope that the ending in my story is years down the road for you and not from a disease, but
I just think that the power that comes from the love of a family is so strong
it can do unbelievable things and I think this is a testiment to that.
I didn't post this because of the cancer relationship, so please do not get offended or upset.
My husbands aunt had cancer. It started small. I forget where, it was serious but it was contained.
She was fighting it like a champ. Radiation, chemo. Man she was a fighter.
And it went away for a little while. She spent her time with her family.
It had come back unfortunately and she had faught again!
It was spreading though, and it went throughout her body.
It had taken a turn for the worse, and things did not look very good.
Her family had taken a turn for the worse regarding personal matters.
I will respect their privacy and not go into details, but it had gotten out of hand.
She had slipped into unconciousness during this time and the doctors were saying that she did not
have much longer left. Maybe even a few days. They had told the family that
they strongly believed she would remain in a coma until passing. She would be heavily
medicated so she would not feel pain. The entire family pulled together and stayed by her bedside
They shared favorite moments with her privately, talked, laughed, cried, and
supported each other the best I have ever seen.
They stayed in her room with her all the time, most taking shifts to everyones houses to take care
of responsibilities. That woman was the most popular lady that hospital had ever seen!
Amazingly, she woke up from a coma, despite several doctors telling us otherwise. The prognosis was clear.
It was a miracle. Even the hospital staff had admitted it, saying "They'd never seen anything like it!"
I know in my heart it was because of my husbands family coming together like that.
I think if I remember correctly, the following couple of weeks she cognitively spoke and lived with her family,
readying herself and her loved ones for her death. She lived a long life, and ended it comfortably and at peace.
I will be praying for you and your family.

Prayers please
I am so sorry you are going through this right now. I wish with all my heart that everything turns around for your family. I know just what you're going through as it was exactly what I went through over a year ago with my father.
Your father will be in my thoughts.
