Trying to get a Cefaly
So far I have spent an hour and a half on the phone to the doctor's office. A good bit of that was being on hold waiting and waiting just to speak with the nurse. Seems no one in the office ever heard of a Cefaly including the doctor. Now she has to do some research before she will even consider it. Sigh....if only I lived in Canada. Still it is likely that in time I will indeed be able to try one and will report back how it works for me.

Oh for pity's sake!! Now the doctor can't find Cefaly on the web even though I gave the web address twice, how did she ever make it through med school? Anyway I am going to print out the info and send it to her.

Re: Trying to get a Cefaly
I emailed the link and info to my doctor. That worked well.
He was able to email back the prescription I needed to submit.

Thanks Migrainegirl. Are you in the US and where did you purchase the device? I see one can purchase it right from the company but I was kind of hoping to get it locally.

Re: Trying to get a Cefaly
I just ordered online. They sent it about 2 weeks after they finally got the doctors prescription.

I hope and pray it works well for you Migraine girl. Did you order it right from the company that makes it?

Re: Trying to get a Cefaly
Yes I ordered it straight from the company that makes it. I really do think it is helping quite a bit. I use it 20 minutes per day. It also helps if I use it when I feel one coming on. Only side effect is it makes me likely to doze off. I think that is because it is fairly relaxing and you need to lie still while getting the treatment for the most part. So I use it in the evenings usually.
I stopped using it when I tried Botox. That did not work so well. I had a very bad spell of headaches for 2 weeks afterwards. I've gone back to the Cefaly and I think I'm doing much better.

Re: Trying to get a Cefaly
I've e-mailed my doctor a number of times with links for Cefaly info and she hasn't answered a one of them. Will call again tomorrow but this is getting frustrating!!

You can order from Costco online. If it doesn't give you relief they have a refund policy which is great and you can get your money back.

Re: Trying to get a Cefaly
Thank you for the suggestion but I have tried to order online from Amazon or Costco but one needs a prescription in the US. Neither of those places will send the Cefaly if there is no prescription.
