migraines & dealing with people
When you have a migraine how do you deal with people? I find that if I have a M I have no patience with other people around me especially if they're whining with a minor incident. I try to be kind & help them with a bandaid or whatever, all the time wanting to tell them to just get out & be quiet. The noise of anyone talking seems to make the pain worse. I know I shouldn't be rude to my DH but sometimes I just have to say "please go somewhere or do something away from me for awhile" & then I feel guilty. Thanks.

It can be difficult. I try to make a point to focus on all the comforts and blessings that I do have in spite of the pain and it helps me a lot. It takes some mental effort for sure though at times.

Re: migraines & dealing with people
I have found that I have to ask for what I need.....just telling those close to me that I am having migraine pain or some aura symptom is sometimes not enough - I need to be specific about what I need. Sometimes I need quiet, sometimes all the lights need to be out, sometimes just leave me be and don't even walk near where I am lying down.
We did come up with a good solution to an overnight issue........my pain a lot of time is from the temporal nerve in my scalp and at night in bed every time my husband turns over or fidgets it causes me pain and I would try and grit my teeth through it because I hated kicking him out of the bed onto the couch. Since our kids have grown up and left the house we had a couple of extra beds so we moved one of the twin mattresses into our bedroom so when I do need to sleep alone he can just move into the other bed with little disruption to his sleep and I feel less guilty.
