Service Dog!
Hi All,
I finally got my service dog. Her name is Dora. She is a black lab and is very sweet and well behaved.
She is not fully trained just yet. She starts school on Sept 1. in Jemison, about 45 min away from me. She will be there for about a month and I'll go up twicee a week to train with her. So far, she is very good at alerting to the fainting. She becomes quite clingy for a few minutes before and then she gets in front of me just before I fall. She usually breaks my fall. When I fall, she will not let me get uo immediately. If she thinks that I am going to faint again, she gives me this look- the same look mothers give when they do not want you to do something, "the if you get up now, you will fall again" look. So far it works well.
She is good company and knows when the headaches are bad too. I will share some pictures soon as well. I just wanted to let y'all know as everyone of you has been so supportive with all of this.
Pain free daus,

Service Dog
So happy for you Sailingmuffin!!!!! What an incredible connection you have with that wonderful creature. You are very lucky to have found each other. I wish you lots of enjoyment with the training and look forward to hearing more about your new family member.
BTW, my husband and I are applying to become doggy foster parents. I am really excited about this because it is something positive I can do from home, migraine or no migraine.

great news!
I'm so
glad that you got a service dog. She sounds beautiful with a lovely name. I have a female black lab mix and although she is not a service dog, she has been wonderful company when my migraine kept me isolated from the world.

Service Dog!
Haven't been here lately because I have had a bad summer with pain.
I have been thinking about you though.
Your service dog sounds wonderful!
Sounds like you two have bonded and that this will be an answer for you.
Please keep us updated on how you are doing.
You have been thru so much.
I am so happy for you.
