I am so angry Empty I am so angry

I got a call today and I saw my Neurologist's number on my caller ID. I knew before I answered it that the call was going to make me mad because it is 6 days before my LONG awaited follow up appointment, and they don't call to remind you until the day before.

As soon as I answered I hear "Unfortunately we are going to have to reschedule your appointment for Monday. The Dr.s are going to be out of the office."

[b]AGAIN?????[u]

The first time there was a schedule change, I had to make it. However this is getting ridiculous. They called once before to change the day of the appointment, and another to change the time. And now AGAIN to change the appointment to the end of this week.

I have been waiting since NOVEMBER to see this neuro again. I NEED med changes, I NEED a reliable practice to go to.

Just today I made arrangements directly with my clients I am taking care of (home care) to leave work to go to the appointment just so I do not have to call off. And now this. I cannot just at the drop of a hat make sudden changes to my schedule like this because their practice is so hit and miss. It involves child care and arranging availability with my boss ahead of time.

Get it together ffs, because I am definitely shopping for a new doctor now!

I am ranting... and it felt great! But this definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.

I understand your frustration.
These arrogant docotrs are under imporession that it is all right to mess up other people's lives on a whim, as if we did not have enough to put up with already!

I am glad that you are looking for a new doctor.
Just make sure that before you book, make sure that the new neuro is specialising in migraine, since not all of them do. Do some interent checks, if possible, as well.

Good luck, and be assertive when trying to book the next apptm, make sure that they don't make you wait too long.

I so understand your frustration! My dermatologist's office kept changing my appointments and when I finally saw him for a follow-up for some skin cancer he removed I jokingly mentioned to him that my appointment had been changed/delayed 3 times and maybe it was because he didn't want to treat me anymore. He was completely unaware that I had been treated that way by his office staff. Please let your neuro know what is going on and that you are going to have to find a new doc. It amazes me sometimes how big the disconnect is between my doctors and their employees!

It was going to be end up working out in theory because I arranged to make it there on the new day, and now work is asking me if I can start working later... Not until I get this appointment over with lol.

I have calmed down... in the emoticon world... it was a transition of Evil or Very Mad confused Crying or Very sad and now I just want it over with.

Mini- So far through research I have found 2 neurologists who specializing in migraines but they are all about an hour away. The search continues!

Jewishmother- that is a really good point regarding the disconnect- I loved my experience with my actual neurologist... with some of the supporting staff? Not so much :/
