Med Switch Rant
I have been waiting through most of January for a prior authorization to go through, then a hold up with the insurance company- for abortive drugs to be covered. Luckily I didn't have too many migraines breakthrough and made do with what drugs I had... then when I did run out I just dealt with it.
I got the call from my pharmacist that they finally got the paperwork... and picked up the meds.
Along the line it was switched to Imitrex from Maxalt. Someone has some explaining to do... not to mention I haven't had any meds while waiting for this bottle of uselessness

Hi, I'm in Northeast, Ohio Where are you?
I hear you on the rx issue. My insurance decided not to make my Zomig covered so I had to start appeals. And I need 18 a month. I had to go through a telephone interview with the ins. co. doctor, pharmacist, lawyer, nurse, and others. They wanted to make me have Maxalt or Imitrex but I explained it would make me dead. Then I told them if I couldn't get the Zomig I would have to make weekly ER visits and that would cost them thousands of dollars! Finally I got the approval for a year. Now every 6 months I have to have a new overide in place for the quantity. A nice little pain in the butt trick by them.
Stand your ground and dig in it's the only way to win.

Re: Med Switch Rant
I am willing to give it another try. But I am going to call today and figure out why it was switched. I guess I better get my phone charged and ready haha.
That is how it is for me also- when all else fails I move up to an injection at my dr. If he is not open, the Urgent care, then ER etc...
