New to Forum and need your opinion.
Hi,
I'm new to this forum and I'd really appreciate your opinion on migraines. I just don't know if what I have is migraines. 4 years ago I woke up with horrible pressure in my head, head was pulsating, felt like a band around my head was squeezing my head. That extreme pressure lasted for about a month, then it subsided. I then started with pain in my teeth, the pain travels, different teeth at different times, it's like a pressure, burning sensation. I also get a type of crawling feeling beneath my skin on my head, its like these little flutters and I will also get tingling sensations. I don't know if this is blood vessels on the surface of my scalp that are dilating or something. I have had this type of pain for 4 years now, it is daily, I wake up with it. They have tried all kinds of medications and nothing seems to work. I have seen 3 neurologists so far and they just don't seem to know what this is. I have had numerous tests, including MRI's. In terms of pain inside the head itself, I have none of that. I have never had any aura/vomiting or visual disturbances. I've also followed the "Heal your Headache" book with the elimination diet and no pain meds and it didn't do anything. Does this sound like migraines? Thank you for reading.

This may seem like a dumb question, you have probably already been through it with your Dr's, but have you seen a TMJ muscle specialist? That muscle in your jaw can wear very fast with so many pounds of pressure o. It, especially if you are a night time teeth grinder. If I were you I would go to your General dentist and get checked out, possibly a referral and/or bite guard. Just a thought

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately I've gone down that road with the whole TMJ thing. I even have braces right now to correct my bite, which I'm almost done with treatment and there has been absolutely no change. Ah well, I have a nice smile now . This is such a weird pain. I will be seeing a naturopathic doctor this week, hoping that someone can think outside the box.

Oh yeah, I figured, but worth a shot. Another thing that might be worth considering if you haven't already: sinuses, they are a huge cause of teeth pain, headaches, and stiffness. I am taking Allegra nightly to help with sinus pressure, which I think is due to allergies and small nasal passages that eventually trigger a migraine. You probably already thought of it though. It does seem like a lot of people who get migraines have almost, overactive nerves in their head, and dilated blood vessels. Good luck at your appointment, hopefully you get answers soon!
