For those that knew me on here of old

Yesterday was an awful sad day.
We have to have our beloved 14 year old Golden put to sleep.
It was horrible, she suffered a stroke and had brain damage.

I feel heartbroken and time is standing still.
14 years of unconditional love, someone who was with me
As i live this half life on the couch. I was never alone. Now I am .

I know those of you that love animals will understand.

So sorry to hear your sad news Pen, as a huge animal lover and a dog owner I so understand how you must be feeling. The one thing I did when my previous dog died (on advice from a former poster on Ronda's) was to have a photo of Sandy enlarged and put in a frame with a beautiful poem. If you'd like the poem, send me an e mail and I will send it to you, but be warned, it will bring you to tears! I have it on my bedroom wall and often read it and still choke up a little.

It been a long time since I've had a dog, but our dog Flicka was one of my best friends in my childhood.. Sending you love and hugs

Pen, I am sorry for your loss.

My avatar is photo of a "Peke Face Persian," that passed away in 2004. We still talk about him, like he passed away yesterday. I guess it makes us feel good to remember him. He did like his turkey.

So sorry for your loss.

I certainly understand how you pet can be so comforting to you.

My 13 year old cat Simon was diagnosed with diabetes about 6 months ago.

The vet had me giving him insulin injections and one night he got too much and we almost lost him.

After that I did some investigating and found a website that absolutely saved his life.

He is now no longer insulin dependent.

Would love to share this info with anyone who needs it.

Anyway, so sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers.

I truly believe that Heaven has a special place for our animals and that we will be with them again someday.

Thank you all for your kind words.
Saffy has now been gone for 5 weeks.
They have gone so fast, yet it is so long since we had her with us.

I still hear her claws on the floor, and save scraps for her dinner.
She loved to have some human food with her own.

It is going to take a lot longer, but some of the time it is better than it was.

I dont come here often now, I had to find a new home.
But it is so nice to come back and be remembered and to read the thoughtful words.

We are still very very sad, I think the passage of time is not making much difference for now.
