Work tomorrow (uggh!!) Empty Work tomorrow (uggh!!)

Post  Stillhurtin Mon Jan 18, 2010 7:50 pm

Well it's back to work tomorrow. I am officially out of paid days off so I have to force myself to go as much as I can, even though I am really having an awful time right now. And the worst part is that on top of my own medical and personal strugggles, I am soooo behind on everything, b/c of missing too much, I don't even know how to catch up! AND, people are starting to be jerks Sad Up until very recently co-workers and bosses were understanding and empathetic and even helpful. NOw I feel like they are irritated and questioning me and tired of it and a few have even outright refused to be helpful to me.

That just makes it even harder to be there. Not to mention that my work computer is a laptop and i can't figure out how to set the screen to dim, AND it's a school so it's flourescent light central!! So if I don't wake with an M or get one from driving due east into the sun for an hour, I usually get one once I get the computer going and have been under the lights long enough. My computer here at home is set to way dim (my husband complains every time he sits down to use it.....ooops).

Ok...I know I am whining, sorry No
I just hate this struggle. And the sad part of it all, is that I LOVE (loved????) my career. I have worked with Special Ed students for 13 years now and it is a part of who I am. It saddens me to realize that things have become so bad that I can't do it anymore. But that is the reality, I'm afraid. One that has been here longer than I've been admitting it. I tried to push through and juggle it all. I can't anymore, not when I have sooo many symptoms sooo much of the time.

Thanks for listening to me whine!

Jessica,

You didn't say what laptop you have. With my Dell Latitude, brightness is adjusted by holding down the Fn key while pressing the down arrow key for dimmer and Fn key with the up arrow key for brighter.

Sorry your Ms are causing so much trouble right now. I know what it is like to be facing people in a school with colleagues that are losing their empathy. There must be a line manager that you can take asside and talk to about organising the work load. They can't possibly expect you to catch up with everything on your own that wouldn't be fair.

Best of luck for tommorow.

Dizzy-Thanks Smile Problem is.. I AM management...lol. The only people above me are the owners and they are the ones with the heavy expectations.

Charolette- I made it through the day. I got a Migraine at about 10:30 so I just took drugs and forced my way through it. I had sooo much to do, so I'm glad I did. Tomorrow I have a ton to do too....and I am only there till about 1245 b/c I have my Ultrasound. Glad you made it through your day!! The crummy weather days are the worst aren't they?? I have a yummy dinner cooking (Pork Tenderloin rubbed with Peppercorn, Boiled potatoes with fresh garlic and Olive Oil and Asparagus....Yummmm) I am gonna eat and park it on the couch indefinitely.
