WOOHOO BRAND TOPAMAX!

So, the last few days have been really good! Since starting my brand topamax, I've had
such little pain its incredible. I'd suggest anyone on generic topamax giving brand a try if possible.
Teva generic was working okay for me, but brand is rockin!

Lovin it! Lets see if it lasts, I have hope on this one!

I experience more tingles, funky word syndrome and all other fun side effects of topamax a bit
more on brand but oh so worth it. Ahh, life at 0 most of the time and 3-4 during my normal
6-8 pain times is AAAaaamazing!

I just filled my first script of brand name Topamax (300 tabs of 25mg cost me $415CDN). Will start it in about 4 days when my generic (Mylan) runs out. Interested to see if there is any difference.

A # of patients have complained that the generic Topiramate does not work very well...some generics are not all that effective...one study indicated that, indeed, generic Topiramate may not be as good as the "regular" brand..similar to brand Fiorinal vs generic....Lawrence Robbins,M.D.

Read that about Fiorinal too, Is that the case with Fioricet as well? I take fioricet with codeine and
notice it works well with low-pain migraine, but not with full blown migraine. If I ask for brand,
will it make a difference?

Depends upon which generic house..if you find a generic manufacturer that seems to work well, try and get that same one in the future(ask at Walgreens, etc..).....The bioavailability of meds, generic vs. brand, may vary by a certain percentage..the ingredients may be the same, but fillers may be different and they dissolve differently...L.Robbins,M.D.

My girlfriend had to switch back to brand from the generic. It's much more expensive for her, but it works whereas the generic topamax wasn't.

I also know that sometimes these preventatives stop working in a couple months, so I'm
enjoying this while I've got it. I am living in the now though, and I try to forget I need medication
to control this! Topamax reminds me though. Loves dem side effects!
