Disability
Well, I received my letter today that I was denied Social Security Benefits..
Made me depressed. But everyone I talked to says everyone gets denied the first time. So I called an attorney today. Guess I'll appeal if they feel I have any chance.
I am currently on part time, 2 days a week. I can hardly make it on 2 days. I counted the days I missed of only 2 per week, and I reported off 14 of those last year. How embarrasing is that????!!!
Really bummed!

Re: Disability
Hope you get some financial relief Sherri.
Would so love to have a big block of time off work to see how much it would help things.
If you do manage it, hope it works.

Re: Disability
I was denied the first time and when I appealed I was also denied. I got a lawyer, and it took 2 &1/2 years to go to court. I am not trying to discourage you though! I got a bench decision, on the spot. It went back three years to the date of disability, and I got a check for those 3 years in 3 weeks from the decision. It doesn't always work that way, I was fortunate. Good Luck!

Re: Disability
Keep fighting Sherri. Be a total pain in the backside for them, be assertive, talk tough and don't take no for an answer.
I keep my fingers crossed for you.
Love

Re: Disability
Steph,
Do you mind me asking what state you are in? They say each is different.
I am getting a lawyer. It's just weird, some days I feel I don't deserve it, cuz I can do some things, but the majority of the time that is not so. I am sure you know what I mean.
Thanks for the encouragement Petzi. I will fight!

Re: Disability
Marion,
I did have my neurologist give me 8 weeks off a couple of years ago. I still had the same amount of migraines, so it's not my job...
And I am on some unemployment, and am working 2 days a week, (when I can get there)

Re: Disability
I am sorry I am just getting back to you! I was out for a few days...been fighting a headache that won't ease up!!!! ugh. I am in Ohio. I know how hard it is to get disability in our situations. My Lawyer took my case for a few reasons, She is a migraine sufferer, and so is her young son. I had TONS of paperwork to support my case, as I am a saver and she could visually see my stuff without having to rely on DR notes and stuff like that. She wanted to win the case of course, but was very surprised that it was a bench decision, she had never even gotten one of those before. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! Again sorry it took me so long!

Re: Disability
Thank you Steph,
I have an appointment in a couple days. I got a female attorney, just felt like she was the one.
I am a saver too, have lots of documents, mostly migraine calanders, some dr. notes.
I will keep you posted, and truely hope you are feeling better soon.
