South African honeymoon murder

I don't know if this has been in the news in the US as well, but here it has been dominating he headlines for a couple of weeks now. I cannot believe what has happened to this poor girl. It is just so heartbreakingly tragic. I feel for her family. In particular for her father who looks like a broken man. If her husband set the whole thing up to have her killed they can keep him in South Africa and use him as cat food for the larger felines they have got down there.

This case is getting stranger and stranger. According to a male prostitute the newly wed husband is secretly gay. Now that revelation would explain why the bride was in tears on the flight to their South African honeymoon and didn't want to sit next to her new husband.

I read about this while in Australia, I don't recall anything in the news in the US. At first I thought the SA police were trying to pin the murder on the husband instead of the locals. What would be the groom's motivation? Was it an arranged marriage?

Don't know what to think. I have been to South Africa in March. I have been to Cape Town and then went on to the Krueger Park and a neighbouring game reserve and I can honestly say that it has been the best experience from start to finish. Yes there are townships in Cape Town (slums to you and me), but at no point did I feel unsafe or threatened. People were exceptionally friendly. I am sure if you venture out into the townships things are different, but why would anybody want to go there in the first place?

I feel the husband should go back to South Africa and face the music. His reluctance to go back does not exactly make him look innocent.
