eye/ cluster headache won't go away- help
Hi All,
This morning, I got a pretty bad cluster headache around my left eye. I put some ice on it and that helped for a while- it dulled and went away. Well, early this afternoon, the eye headache came back- nothing helped- ice, medicine, I finally ended up patching the eye. The problem is that it is not going away. This very unusual for these types of headaches for me. The migraine that came with it is terrible as well.
We were driving back from the beach today and about halfway through the trip, all I could do was put my scarf over both eyes and curl up in pain. We stopped and I took some zanaflex which knocked me out for the rest of the trip. right now, i am in pjs and curled up and hoping this will go away. the eye thing is still horrendous.
Has anyone else had this happen.
Pain free days,

I had a few M episodes when I was shocked to discover that my usually dependable meds were totally useless,
and that scared me witless. So I sympathize with you very much.
But as for your specific case, no I am sorry to say I haven't experienced something like this.
Sounds extremely painful, you poor thing. I've heard for certain cluster HA indomethacin is very helpful,
but you probably tried that already.
I hope someone will be able to give you better suggestion as me, and pronto.

Re: eye/ cluster headache won't go away- help
hi there - there have been three treatments i have found useful for the treating of my very rare cluster headaches. the first was chlorpromazine tablets. secondly, oxygen therapy and thirdly i was injected iv with lignocaine which broke the cycle.
cluster headaches are absolute s***t's to get rid of and i feel very sorry for anyone who has the misfortune to get them. it feels like you are being stabbed in the eye, nose and ear simultaneously. i hope you get some relief soon.

I am so sorry you're going through this. I had cluster headaches for two years, but back in those days, no one could offer me anything except aspirin and other OTC painkillers, which didn't work, of course. Only sleep seemed to help, but then they'd come back the next day. The headaches finally ended when I stopped taking the birth control pill. I'm not saying this cured them because it may have just been a coincidence. I never took birth control pills again, so I can't say whether they'd have come back. I do hope you find something that helps.
