sinuses and migraine
I am so sick. I feel like I am dying. I have a terrible cold. I caught it from my two year old (little of walking petri dish!). My question is, when you have sinus trouble do you also get the exploding head, migraine from hell. And what can I do about it? I have to take care of my poor sick kid and I can hardly see and my throat is on fire. Blech. At least today she said, "you take care of me mommy and I will take care of you!".

Re: sinuses and migraine
I am getting over a sinus thing right now, and it sucks!!!!! I always seem to have sinus trouble after being sick, and it usually means a near constant and excrutiating migraine. I hate it. I've blown through my imitrex for the month.

How sweet!!
I hope you can get some relief soon.
Have you tried a netti pot (Dr. Oz always talks about them on TV). It's supposed to help with sinus congestion. The good thing is that it's not a medication and it's supposed to be relatively inexpensive. It's basically just washing your sinuses out with salt water.
Please take care,
Becky

Re: sinuses and migraine
netti pots are good if you can breathe through your nostrils, even a little bit i think. if you use a netti pot make sure to use the right saline mixture. i screwed it up once. let me tell you, if you use the wrong mixture you will regret it. I'm so sorry you are in pain MaryAnne. If you can, try a bottle of Afrin nasal spray. Dont overuse it, but it helps me with sinus pain a lot better than over the counter pain pills. Lots of well wishes your way

Re: sinuses and migraine
If I am correct Netti pot shouldn't be used if your sinuses are infected, It is for regular hygiene, as in prevention rather.
If you suspect you have sinus infection that causes severe HA, then you might need an antibiotic. I rarely am lucky to have sinus infection pass on its own...

synus
Kids can be so sweet
When I have synus h/a, I have a stady pain all over my eyes and front. I also understand it's synus because I feel a weird sensation in my eyes, a kind of flashing pain when I turn them around.
Also, when I press the area around my nose and orbits I feel a pain that spreads all over the head.
