Grey's Anatomy Patient
Anyone catch the intracranial hypertension patient last night? She needed a shunt and wanted Derek to do the surgery and was apalled that either Meredith or Avery was going to do it. Her symptoms were headache and ringing in the ears.

I caught that. I wondered how accurate it actually was - the treatment and the symptoms. They didn't really go into the surgery other than showing Avery botching it. The symptoms seemed a bit hinky. Only ringing in the ears?

Ahh TV doctors.
My wife (a school nurse) used to point out huge basic procedural mistakes on the show ER. The most common? The bed rails were always down on the patients beds. BIG violation of hospital code. They also did not follow accepted sterile procedures. Can't let reality get in the way of a good plot now can we!
And that show had "real" doctors on staff as consultants. Once again, it's the nurses who really know whats going on!
