Dr Oz on migraine...
This one dam* show was not captioned, so I don't know exactly was what said
but a few days ago dr Oz had a segment about different kinds of HA
and migraine was among them.
When his helper picked up the boxes, I saw that
"the cure" was Feverfew, magnesium and triptans.
125 mg of Feverfew daily, as for Mag I forgot how much.
triptans of course as needed, by Rx only.
Very very basic, I know.
For cluster HA dr Oz recommended .... Bahman's Cayenne peppers
Anybody else saw that show?

Risa,
I don't know if what I saw was the same show as you are referring to, but I did see one OZ show where he talked about migraines. I think he's a wonderful person and that he is really trying to help folks. But he isn't and can't be an expert on all things medical. I think his expertise lies with his specialty, the heart. And I think he is also very good with losing weight and eating healthy.
But when it comes to migraines, addictions, and psychological issues he is not all that knowledgeable. I think he relies on other "experts" in those fields. I have not been impressed with the people he or his producers picked. For example, it was clear to me that he hasn't had much or perhaps any personal experience with addicts and alcoholics.
Also, he crams so much into an hour show. Migraines cannot be covered in a 5 minute sound bite. It's much too complicated for that!

No, I didn't see the show but I often read about too basic remedies for migraines.
Weird that they mentioned triptans among all natural "cures"....At least they listed one useful thing

Re: Dr Oz on migraine...
I saw the show. The segment was very basic and the explanation of migraine was at the most basic explanation for the pain part of the migraine episode, with no mention of the other neurological effects. Since the entire segment was on different types of headaches; tension, migraine, and cluster, it was just a quick guide on narrowing down what type of headache you may suffer from and possible remedies.
I took it as a guide for people who are undiagnosed to take to their doctor for help. I take most of what Dr. Oz does that way. His show is a guide and not meant to diagnose anyone, but to give you a clue as to what may be happening and to go see your doctor.

Oh yes, dr Oz show I think shouldn't be taken too literally, rather as a general guide of "how to- " only,
a beginning to a better, healthier way of life.
Something as a 'new manual' if you will.
His specialty indeed is anti-aging, healthy weight loss, and an healthy eating habits.
He mixes traditional medicine with alternative approaches.
His philosophy is: "East meets West".
That's why he put triptans with herbs and Mag supplement.
He certainly is cute

He's definitely a good looking, charming, sexy man. Have you noticed how his female guests can hardly keep their hands off of him?

lol yes!
I always wonder how his wife feels about his new-found popularity.
If I was in the audience I am not sure if I could help myself - from pinching his cheeks.
the other cheeks

I wouldn't mind to wait in this comfy beeed... yee-haa!!!
