Another bad week!
Wow! It started Sunday and still hasn't let up... Every stinkin' day! I have had Treximet, Imitrex, and Toridal injections and nothing is working.
Called my neuro and he ordered me Sulindac, so far all it has done is make me nauseaus!
Ready to give up, but how do you do that?????
Just want a life and to feel good. It is all I can do to cook dinner, and that is all I do..........

Re: Another bad week!
I am so sorry that nothing is working for you right now. That is so frustrating. I have had those times and I am sure I will have them again. I know when the seasons are changing I have those "sick" times in both the fall and spring.
September October timeframe may be the problem. I am sorry I do not have an answer for you except do you also take painkillers? Maybe something like Lortab can help through the rough times.
Are you the one who was going to get the surgery in Cleveland, Ohio where they cut the muscle in the forehead? Forgive me if I am wrong. I am very interested in that surgery. Sounds like something that could help a lot of us. Course any operation on the head is touchy.
Sorry I could not be of more help. Bags of frozen peas are good sometimes for the forehead.
Call your doctor and see if he cannot get you some stronger painkillers for these bad times. Sometimes ones you have not tried before help a lot. I have never heard of sulindac.
Hugs to you and I hope you are better tomorrow.

Yes, I was one who considered the surgery in Cleveland. My neuro adivsed me against it. He said when the surgery first came out there were only 2 small incisions, now they are doing so much more cutting. He said because of my age he wouldn't recommend it. He feels I should stop having them anytime, that it's very unusual for a woman my age to still have them.
I have toridal injections I can take at home. And I use them often when it gets bad like this.....
Thanks for your conerns and and care.

I`m sorry for the never ending pain that you are having to deal with. I know how you feel. I`ve been on a non-stop roll for at least a month now.

Sherri,
You definitely aren't alone. Just in reading posts, many of us seem to be struggling. Wish I knew what it was but there must be something global that affects us all.
Hang in there. I know it's about all we can do.

Re: Another bad week!
Hi Sherri,
same boat here....
The last 10 days have been hell.
OK, I'm particularly stressed and worried in this period and this increases my chances to get migraines, but I reached the point that I had to increase the ergot dosage and this scares me....
I hope that the culprit is the season change for all of us: we have cold nights/mornings here and then still too warm temps during the days. These sudden changes are a killer for my head....
Take care

Re: Another bad week!
Thanks everyone for the encouragement, I hate to hear others suffereing too, but at least we know we aren't alone. And we aren't some kind of a freak.
I love the fall, but boy, hope my body adjusts soon!
Someone else mentioned less daylight could be the culprit, something to think about isn't it?
Hope everyone has a good day......

Sherri~
Please know that you are not alone. I am in the same boat right now too. I was having some success and had some good days earlier in the summer, but the past 2-3 weeks have been hell. The head pain hasn't let up.
It's interesting to hear that the season change may be the culprit or part of the problem.
In any case, I hope this passes for all of us, because I understand just what it means to barely get through the day and have enough strength to just get by, never mind have a life.
Hang in there.

Re: Another bad week!
I had only 9 Triptans in August.....good for me.....
Then September hit. The month I was to visit my friend...remember that....
Bags packed ready to go...standing here....Sorry
And just couldnt get enough relief to get in that car.
It was my husband that called time in the end...tried so hard.
So then on our anniversary I got a gut bug, which gave me migraine.
Followed by, or part of, a really nasty sinus thing, which I still have...
So lots more migraines that maybe I wouldnt have had.
No 9 Triptan month this month, so far 12, could be 13.....OTC every day for the last 2 weeks for the bug headache as well.
I know its that because they are working....but hey, pain is pain. I am waking up with several axe men in my head...
My healer friend says it is the change of the seasons, causes these "bugs" and effects us sensitive people.
You know when I looked at my diary for last September, I had a lousy triptan month and guess what...a bug...
Sherri my friend I feel for you, and for us all.
All this exciting news about genetics and IV aspirin and new drugs.
But I am 60, I cant wait while they piss about with this...
I need something now. I have a Christening and a funeral to try to get to.....
I sure hope we all get a break real soon.....maybe October??
Oh and for interest our weather changed very suddenly.
We went from nice autumnal sunshine to cold nights and lots of rain..
How about you?

Re: Another bad week!
I have been absolutely miserable for over a week. Yesterday I had one of those days where I wasn't even counting the pills anymore, I didn't care how many I took or if it was too many, I just wanted it to STOP. And it didn't.
The very sad thing was I felt a lump on my armpit and my initial reaction was "at least if it's terminal cancer this will all be done with".
I have excellent pain management...it's just that NOTHING is touching this SOB.
I'm back at work, though I haven't made it through a full day all week and the nausea is mounting now so I probably wont today either....

It's Fall. And for me that means migraines almost every day, fibro flares, and lots of neuropathy pain. It's so beautiful outside and I just HATE the way it makes me feel.

Let me walk a mile in another man's moccasins.
If only they knew, if they could feel what we feel, how we feel,
Maybe they would understand how much we need their help.
How much we appreciate those that do. pig
try !

Re: Another bad week!
Must be the weather....this whole week has been awful for me too. Daily imitrex or maxalt. Yesterday I snuck a vicoden from my *kidney stone only stash*. Didn't know what else to do....been to the ER four weeks in a row for fluids and meds, wasn't going to make it five.
Hugs to all who are hurting this week...hoping next week will be better?
