Pictures of migraine sufferers
In these days I read many articles from all over the world about the recent discovery of the flawed gene called TRESK that seem responsible for migraine.
Most articles were accompanied by a picture of a hypothetical migraine sufferer.
In most cases it was the picture of young, beautiful lady perfectly combed and with perfect make-up on.
The lady in most cases has a slightly annoyed expression and holds her head with one hand in a very elegant position.
When I have a migraine, my hair is a mess, I can't stand make up, my expression is much more on the angry side rather than on the annoyed and I cannot touch my head with that grace....

Ivy - it's sort of like the Excedrine Migraine girl here. Just wanna choke that one.
No you look at me and you can tell I'm not feeling good. Pale, dark circles under my eyes. Hair a mess. The only time I actually try to look normal is when I HAVE to be somewhere and I don't want to scare children.

It's all about gaining sympathy.
People will have sypmathy for Snow White images, but not the Wicked Witch.
Little do they know that the transformation from Snow White to Wicked Witch is internal
Current Campaign
A Few Hours Later
WHat we really feel like

LMAO! Angela! That is so perfect!
The whole left side of my face droops when I have a migraine. That is one if the signs my bosses notice that tells them I have a mibraine. I do NOT look all pretty and put together. I look like death warmed over.
Those commercials just make me want to gag. They should really show someone, all bedraggled and haggard, holding their head while hunched over the commode losing their lunch. THAT is what a migraine looks like!

I love when the excedrine commercial mentions that migraines are "real".
We have had some great allergy commecials here where the people actually look like us except sneezing.

I don't even know what I look like because I can barely open my eyes and a mirror would be the last place I would open my eyes for.

Re: Pictures of migraine sufferers
I remember the commercials where the woman would take one Imitrex and then be out running on the beach flying kites with her daughter. It never worked like that for me. But that's the picture they paint of us.
Interesting you should mention the droopy eye. I didn't realize others had that. Mine will always droop on whatever side the headache is on, and sometimes the whole side of my face. People who know me well can tell by the droopy eye when I have a bad one. My picture would include ice packs piled on all around my head and a bucket nearby for the inevitable.
