Prayers for my husband please Empty Prayers for my husband please

Post  kimsmom Mon Jan 04, 2010 2:00 pm

Hi all Happy New Year! I was hoping for a better one than last year...

My husband was very ill on New Years Day and since then. He just found out after having an ultra sound that it is his gull blatter. He has an impacted gull stone and his gull blatter is inflamed. He is seeing a surgeon on Wednesday.

He will have the surgery as soon as possible I am sure.

Does anyone have any information on gull blatter surgery? I am hoping for orthoscopic but I do not know with the problems he is having.

Thank you in advance for good thoughts and prayers...

I had my gall bladder removed about 5 years ago. It was a piece of cake compared to chronic migraines. I took pain pills only the day of the surgery and didn't need them after that. They did the laparoscopic surgery with 3 entry holes.

I'll keep your husband in my prayers and hope his surgery is as good as mine.

Quick and easy for my hubby to have it done. He was having heart attack like symptoms, was his gall bladder. He took one dose of Vicodin at home, made him feel sicker, so he took no more and rested about 4 days and was great!

Good wishes for your husband.

Hi Pam,

Sorry to hear your husband hasn't been well, it can make you feel pretty rough. I had gall bladder surgery many many years ago and it's not too
bad, I think migraines are much worse! I'm sure he will feel a whole lot better after he recovers from surgery. I hope you are well enough to take
care of him but I seem to remember it's a fairly quick recovery. Thinking of you. Keep us posted.

Thank you so much everyone for all your thoughts and information about the surgery. I read them all to my husband and he immediatly asked me to thank you all very much. It is good to hear that it is an easy surgery. But surgery is surgery. Scary...

Hope he has the laproscopic one.

I will keep you all posted.

I had mine out about 15 years ago laproscopically. it was a breeze compared to my other surgeries. Just keep in mind it take about two years for the body to completely adjust to not having a gall bladder so rich and greasy foods should be kept at a minimum and be prepared for some gastro-intesitnal upset if you do indulge. Other than that recovery was quick and easy.

Sorry to hear your husband has been having troubles. I don't know much about
gallbladder surgery, but I hope it goes smoothly. Let him know he is in our thoughts! I love you

I had mine out in 2000 and I'm so glad - I have never had any issues from having it out. I wouldn't even know it was missing! I think your husband will feel much better having it out. I was just sore for a few days, but nothing horrible. Hope he gets relief soon.

Thinking of you and your guy. True, all surgery is serious, but this one sounds like it isn't nearly as awful as many of them. Best to you.

Hi there i had my gall bladder removed 3 years ago and it was a breeze like most people here have said, i was in and out of hospital in one day then had a few days resting with pain relief and was back to work within a few weeks, the pain of a gall stone attack is right up there with migraine and child birth, so your husband has my sympathies, it is not pleasant.
