Bad M- tired of fighting- warning vent
Hi All,
The migraines have beeen horrendous lately and I am really at a loss for what to do. The headaches are also making the fainting worse- and it is just forming a vicious cycle.
I am so tired of having to fight this all the time. I just want the pain to stop. T3, klonop[in, and benedryl take the edge off, but that is about all. I have a call in to my neuro about an IV of depakan, though I may hold off on that until a week before surgery.
I just dont know what to. Any advice.
Pain free days,

Sailing, Is T3 all you have for pain control? That is not very strong. I know they dont like to give young adults stronger pain meds, but dont you have anything for when you get to the end of your rope? When I was in my 20's I at least had Percocet as a rescue med. I cant remember if you are on long acting opiates or not. So sorry you are in such a bad place. I wish I lived nearby to help. My daughter and I give each other neck massages at least every other day. I dont know what I will do when she goes to college in a year.
Hugs,
Cindy

Hi All,
Yes, right now, T3 is all I have for pain control. I have run the gamut of the long acting opiates- MSContin worked well for several years. However, as time passed, it became less effective and it wasn't helping the pain. So, I decided to go off the long acting pain meds and go back to one of the few medications that did work- T3. Unfortunately, T3 isn't touching this one. I am going to ask my doctor about something for rescue, but the t3 actually seems to help more. All I know right now is that I hurt. Klonopin and benedryl take the edge off and I do have zanaflex for sleep.
It is just between the headache and fainting, I am really, really worn out. I am so tired of having to fight this all the time. As things stand now, I have a couple of options:
1. call the pain dr to see if we can increase T3 or have some sort of rescue.
2. Go ahead and set up the IV- I know it might be better to wait a few more days so it will still be in my system when I go to denver, but if I had my druthers, I'd love to have that infusion now.
3. I may have some old pain medication here, which I can try to find. (but I hate taking it.}
4, Continue with status quo- with klonopin, benedryl, and t3 and see if tomorrow is better along with all usual distraction methods.
I am just at the end of my rope here. The headache is wreaking havoc with fainitng. Last night, every time I woke up, I passed out, which is unusal. Right now, I dont even want light in my room at all- and reading, which is usually an ecape for me is difficult becaue I feel like I am thinking through a brick wall. I can watch some dvds or listen gto music, but that is about all. '
I'd love any advice you could give,

sailing, do you think that some of the meds that you are taking could be making the headache worse ? Like a rebound affect.

I have tramadol injections for when I get bad like that. It has kept me out of e.r. several times now.
