Does anyone else have "episodes"?
I have migraines every 4 days. It can be 3, and I can go 7, but usually its the 4th day after the last Triptan.
They last at least 3 days. I go Triptan day 1. Triptan Day 3. Then pull back a bit. Or, Triptan Day 1, Day 2 off, and Triptan Day 3.
The episodes go with what appear to be still hormonal symptoms, but maybe they aren't.
I get flushes, my stomach gets upset, I get painful spots in my nose and an ulcer in my mouth.
There's more, but I wont bore you. Except to say that prior to I get VERY irritable. Ask my husband...
In between these episodes, I dont have the above symptoms, just my "normal" daily pain.
This is not a "headache". It is I am told a myofascial pain from Fibro...Lurks in my neck and goes up to my head as it pleases.
So my question is.....do you get episodes like these......are your migraines on a schedule, in a pattern?
I find it odd, that, given my only discernible trigger has been hormones, and here I am 5 years past "all that", I still appear to get the same crap together.

yes, mine are always in a pattern. Sometimes that pattern will break and it will be a different pattern to a certain degree. My hormonal m are pretty much the same.

Re: Does anyone else have "episodes"?
Pen,
I know you have examined your life upside down and inside out, but..
Are you absolutely certain your not doing something like...
Monday roast beef
Tuesday fish
Wednes spagetti...
or Monday you shop
or Monday wednesday friday you wash your hair
or the dog gets washed thursday
or or...
Such regularity certainly inspires the idea of a pattern of an outside antigen that is happening every week.
Ps Look really carefully at what you cook on days you feel good. "Oh I feel good today so I'll cook..." do you tend to cook something "better" - which might not be??
pss think of little things too. I don't handle processed iodized salt at all well. If I haven't had much vit c I can make myself a screaming wreck litererally, by od'ing on too many oranges - stimulates pituitary gland to send out acth to send out cortisol - circles upon circles.

Re: Does anyone else have "episodes"?
Ha!! Marion, your post made me smile....
I actually have no routine in my life, I have hated routine all my life.
My son is the same (no migraines though).
The only routine I ever had was my periods and even they were irregular.
When the migraines started I was 40. I got one with my period.
Within 5 years I got them beginning middle and just before.
By the time menopause hit, I had them every 8 days or so regardless.
We dont eat the same things on any occasion, and I seldom get to cook any more.
I wash my hair when it needs it and it can actually make my head better rather than worse.....assuming it is good enough to wash my hair.
Dont shop, hate shopping. And cant catch the dog to bath her.
I know what you are driving at Marion, joking aside.
I have a chart which I kept for 5 years and it listed about everything I ate or did.
Nothing ever showed up. Entire family studied it and so did the neuro....not a clue...
Hormones or dont know was the conclusion...
I am grateful I dont have full blown migraines every day of course. 10 a month is enough.
But I would love to know why it comes when it does. It might make it possible for me to go visit my friend.
I need to know when the gap is coming and I never do,
Thanks Marion, appreciate your comments.
