Ringing in ears
Just wondering if anyone else has ringing in their ears with their migraines? My pain is mostly on the side of my head but lately is all over all the time.
I remember on my last visit to the neuro and a previous visit before that he asked if I had ringing in my ears. Is this a symptom of something else or just another M symptom?
I've only began having it in the last week or so and it so bad that I cant hear out of that ear for a while after it stops ringing.

hi there:
I have a hissing sound in my ears 95 percent of the time. It began when the headaches began. So I can only surmise that yes it does connect with the pain. Sorry you're having this issue.

My ears are the noisiest thing in my life. Sometimes I cant hear for the noises.
They do the hissing and ringing all the time, but with migraine I get the psycho ears...
Like the shower scene in Psycho....drives me insane.

I do too. Usually just after the visual aura starts I'll get a sensation like having a moth or a fly stuck in my ear (which has never happened, so I'm just speculating that's what it feels like) for a few minutes then my tinnitus, which is usually ignorable, ups crazily in volume.

yes, my ears ring off and on everyday. Sometimes it is really loud and other times it is like a whoosh or a hiss. Annoying.

Mine don't ring all the time but it's off and on throughout the day. Since I have constant migraines I'm just gonna add it to list of migraine symptoms and annoyances.
The ringing almost seems to make the pain worse sometimes. Weird.

For me it's constant and gets louder and lower in frequency when a mig is coming. So far it's my best warning signal despite how horrendously annoying it is.

Re: Ringing in ears
I have tinnititus 24/7. Sometimes it changes in pitch. Sometimes it changes in intensity.
Sometimes it is one pitch / intensity in one ear and a different pitch / intensity in the other ear. But it never goes away. There is no such thing as true peace and quiet, ever.
I have not noticed if any of these changes are correlated with the migraines, though.

Ditto.
I have travelled down the Meniere's road in the hope it would provide answers and it did to some degree.
Meniere's combines balance, veritgo, hearing loss, ringing when the "level bubble" in your head goes wrong.
Anyone who has it constantly has my total sympathy.
Mine wasn't there the day I went for the balance test, so of course I tested fine. (The tests are expensive)
Salt is a no no.
Autoimmune has been implicated in affecting the bubble.
So after I was dx with the thyroid problem and told to eat more iodoized salt I think my bubble was bubbling away a bit too much.
I had cut the salt down before the test when I read the implications of salt on menieres.
Oh the circles.
Beware if you have any autoimmune problem.

Re: Ringing in ears
I was treated for vertigo about 8 months ago using the canalith repositioning procedure. Part of my vertigo is caused by the canaliths being detached from where they are supposed to be and they move around the ear canals.
This procedure was done by a physical therapist and she would do simple movements of my head and neck to reposition these little things. I was extremely skeptical that it wouldn't help but it did. I still have some vertigo but not as bad as before.
Since I first. Posted this about the ringing I have Noticed that when the pain gets worse the ringing seems to increase or maybe it's just cause I have a sound sensitivity.
