Doctor
I know I have to go again. Don't want to. No sulky icon. I really think we need one. Maybe little arms beating the floor.
Anyone want to fly to Oz and come with me??

I hear you. I don't want to go either but if I don't I think my daughter will tie me up and take me anyway.

Re: Doctor
I just went to my neuro yesterday.
I need to see my GP and I'm overdue for my 6 month dental cleaning. I don't feel like it.
I know how you feel.

Ahhhh...a trip to Oz! Just send me the ticket and I'm there to chauffeur you. Oh, what? I can't drive myself to my own appointments? I would for a free trip to Oz!
Seriously, though, if I could help you I'd do it in a heartbeat. Wouldn't it be lovely if we all had a Ronda friend to go Drs appointments with? To help remember to ask the right questions, to help advocate if the patient starts crying? (something I WISH I could stop doing!!!), and then go to lunch with to rehash what the Dr said? yes, yes, that would be fantastic.

Re: Doctor
It sounds like you don't have a very good relationship with a caring doctor if you dread going so much. Is it enough to make you want to find a new one? I see my headache specialist every 2 weeks, so I actually see her more than anyone else other than my parents. Oh, and then the staff at her office, who are all really incredible people. My mom and I were wondering a while back whether it was a pre-requisite to be amazing in order to work in neurology at Kaiser (my HMO), or whether working in neurology at Kaiser makes them amazing. The only one I would take exception to on this is my sleep specialist, as I don't really like him. But since my restless leg syndrome is basically under control, I don't have to see him very often. He makes me cry. But my headache specialist is the best doctor I've ever met (and I've met a LOT)!

You hit the nail on the head Paradox. Someone to jump in when you forget to ask something or get flustered.
My gp is quite nice Vicki, but I'm like everyone else here looking for answers that aren't there yet. So I do get flustered and frustrated.
I'm a travelholic so it's nice to just dream that one day I'll jump on a plane and all the "baggage" of life will just get left at the airport when I leave.
Thanks

Re: Doctor
I've pretty much decided not to go back to my neuro. She's like the 3rd neuro I've tried, they don't get my pain under any better control than my GP. It doesn't make sense to waste time and money going back there every 3 months for no additional help.
I'm also overdue for my dental check-up and cleaning. Every time I set up an appointment, it seems I get a terrible migraine and can't make myself go. When I'm that nauseated and in that kind of pain, having the bright light in my eyes and hands and tools in my mouth is not something I can handle.
