It's back....
Well ---- I got four months and nearly four weeks of pain free time. It's been creeping back though, and today back full-blown. I am trying SO hard not to take any triptan...
The neuro said I could go up to 360ms. of Verapamil, but if I went up to 480, he would want to "watch me closely" ...
With the monster back, and my burning fibro legs, life isn't worth living....

I'm so sorry Holly, things may improve again and perhaps as you get older (like me!) you will get a lot less migraines.

its back
I saw on a site that 360-480 is the dosage for M control. You may find relief there or maybe you will still have M sometimes. Your doing real good still. Start counting your good days again. Not daily like you had.. Take the triptan.

Holly,
I am so sorry. it's so frustrating when you finally have relief only to slide back. I was doing so well on the Doxepin but had to go off because of side effects. It so hard to go back to the daily grind of just trying to get through the day and cope.

Ruth I am a couple of years behind you and so far getting worse rather than better.
Is there still hope please?

Holly,
I am so sorry, I cant imagine how horrible that must be. I dont get any breaks, to have one would be fantastic, but to get them back. Hugs.....

To Pen (Sorry to steal this post from you Holly!).
After over forty years of dreadful migraines I can honestly say I don't get them anywhere near what I used to. I still get the odd bad one and lots of mild headaches but I feel like I have a life again, although I do deal with other health problems, and pain. Hopefully you will get better instead of much worse, I sure hope so anyway.

You didn't steal it... us older folks are in this together seemingly...
I was in Walmart when it came back hard today... we were trying to get my son's tires changed and it took over three hours to do it. I was getting worse and worse....
By the time I got home it was bad, and I took the triptan...
I took a nap, and now, it is gone....hiding somewhere.... funny how I anthropomorphise the monster...

Re: It's back....
I honestly thought, with the medicine change, and being 59, I was "over it" at last...
guess not...
Does anyone ever really get past it? Do 80 year olds have M?

mig
yes, my father did, but if you do have straight forward migs those not associated with other complication they do decrease with age. if theyre not there is anther issue involved. my father had his 4 65 years and for the first 45 would have them every weekend but then they reduced dramatically!

I find it's the florescent lights, and the fact that they always have a few going out, which makes the flicker visible to the normal eye, not just the migrainer's head.

Holly,
I hope it's just a temporary setback and that you will continue to move in a positive direction.
Walmart is just plain evil.

Re: It's back....
Strange, but both my daughter and I get ill in Walmart. My personal opinion is the store is filled fumes from the cheap furniture and plastics they sell. I last about 10 minutes and then start feeling faint and nauseous. I have to get out as quick as I can or I get a migraine.
I thought I was weird butif other people feel it too.... maybe there is something to my theory.

I always leave angry too! It's the blaring nonstop intercom of foreign accents yelling words I can't understand at different volumes and interrupting my conversation and thoughts. It's like there is a fire in every department every 3 minutes and it has to be reported in another language by another annoying high pitched voice.
