Sinuses or toothache
I have had an off and on again toothache and headache becoming a migraine at times, for about 3 days now. My tooth isn't sensitive to hot and cold nor is it sensitive to the touch. My headache is usually ALL over my entire head. The constant pain is in my bottom tooth 2nd to the last tooth, which is uncommom for sinuses but pain is known to occur in the botton jaw/teeth. I don't have any post nasal drip and my nose is not clogged, but I do have a nasty wet cough. I did go to the Dr today and he said that he didn't feel that it was sinus or teeth related but my blood pressure was elevated, 152 over 100. He did prescribe an antibiotic and pain meds for the headaches. I am just hoping it's not my tooth and is sinuses! Any suggestions and opinions are needed please! Thanks

When I have a bad M flaring up I will often have facial and tooth pain. Feels like someone clocked me in the eye with a bat and the pain extends down into a couple of teeth. Not a whole lot of fun but you aren't the only one with this complaint. I know there are others here that experience the same things.

The trigeminal nerve gets irritated when you get a migraine. It is the main sensory nerve for the face and has three branches that enervate the teeth in addition to the face and surface of the eyes. It is very common to get pain anywhere along the T nerve with a migraine attack.
As bad as it is, be happy that it goes away with the migraine. I have Bilateral Trigemenial Neuralgia and have pain somewhere on my face and scalp 24/7. It sucks. I wish it would go away with the migraine attacks.

Same thing with me. Even after the surgery I still get pressure and upper tooth pain. It's bad enough that I have to fight the urge to grab some pliers and yank one out. I'm pretty sure there would a popping champagne cork sound if I did.

Re: Sinuses or toothache
I get a lot of tooth pain, and the dentist never finds anything.
I get sensitive teeth. They come they go, they move around...
I always think it is my teeth, but so far it isn't.
He tells me I am unlucky, my sinuses sit almost touching my nerves.
Closer than "normal". So a bit of sinus inflammation, or a bit of a nerve problem from sensitivity...
It can go either way.
Actually I have it today. I ate my lasagne and he heat set it off.
it drives me nuts. There doesnt seem to be an answer.

Thank you everyone
I am just going to have to break down and make an appointment with the dentist at least to rule it out, or wait til the end of this round of anitibiotic and see what happens. I just don't care for the dentist and would like to avoid it if I could. It started in my lower teeth and is now moving to the upper so I am hoping that is a sign that it's sinuses and the pollen count here where I am is the highest it's been in about 5 years, so that could be the cause for allergies/sinus flare up. Thank you again everyone for your help!

Re: Sinuses or toothache
Well how topical did this turn out to be. Wednesday I got a "twinge" of pain in a right top tooth when I ate something a bit warm.
Thought that was it, but last night my lasagne really hurt it. It did calm down after about 3 hours.
I HATE TOOTHACHE, it freakes me out.....almost rather have migraine...I have tablets for that.
Nothing fixes my tooth pain.
This morning when I woke it was okay. Until I drank some water....here we go again.
And now it is worse than it was.
Now my head pain is on the same side.
I now have pain.....teeth- top of head- on eyebrow- behind ear- under jaw -neck.
So I am guessing (and hoping) that it isnt a bad tooth.
I have a check up scheduled for mid May (they fill me with dread)
But if this doesnt abate, I will have to go sooner.
My other clue is I have hay fever or a cold, I cant decide which, probably the former.
So my sinuses could be hitting on my teeth.
Why do these things always occur on week ends????
